Go eat the burger at LPG and get back to me. 16 bucks for the burger fries and a piece of heaven. It's #1 in Nola. Luke #2.
Got you hooked on that LPG.

I'm aware.
$4 for fries & $2 for a strip of bacon seems like a nice little margin for them. I have no clue what beef is going for, i know it's at an all time high, but i would guess they are trying to make similar margins.

The point is they are passing that cost onto other things (cocktails, bacon, etc..) Hell there is an epidemic, or was a few months ago, wiping out pig populations.

I can't remember the last time I ordered a burger out.

Champagne wishes and caviar dreams, eh?

That sucks you had a bad meal there ... Between lunch and dinner, I probably eat there three or four times a week... I think it's the best burger in the city.

Why are you rolling your eyes, LE?
I was stating sort of realization. I just realized that I can't recall when I last ordered a burger at a restaurant. I love burgers. I think I had them for 3 nights the week after July 4th with leftover hamburger meat. Two grilled and one in the cast iron skillet. I just don't order them out. Poboys, yes, but not burgers for some reason. Maybe because I've been disappointed when they don't taste as good as they do at home.

Have you ever been to a burger-only joint like Company or Fat Cow or Five Guys?

You know what I don't understand? Burger joints trying to make something "gourmet" that doesn't need to be.
Ground chuck. Salt. Pepper. Get in my belly.

I like my own burgers at home because I'm a snob about how I make them, but I've had far worse burgers at people's houses than restaurants for some reason.

So do I. I've had good ones at other folks' houses, as well. I can't think of a burger joint I've been to. If I'm at a bbq joint with burgers, I'm going to eat ribs if they're good or a pulled pork or pulled brisket sandwich. I just never think to go out FOR a burger. I can make 'em in no time at home. Now, I'll go to Sonic for an extra crispy corn dog, but not a burger.

Pretty sure Cowbell's burger comes with fries. It is $13 though.
Cowbell, High Hat, and Company are my top 3.

The burger at High Hat is on my immediate list of Nola foods that I want to try.

I've wanted to try Company Burger for a really long time, and finally made it over. I wish I could say that it lived up to the hype, but it just didn't.
I had a company burger, onion rings, and a cocktail, and my total was $23...so pretty expensive...AND they charge 50 cents to add tomato! WTH?
I think I could deal with the price if the burger was good, but it wasn't. The bun was slightly chewy like it been sitting under a heat lamp.
The onion rings were VERY good, and I also really liked the different mayos offered.
For my cocktail I ordered a Violet Smash. It wasn't good at all.
There's some great burgers in New Orleans, so I don't see myself ever going back to Company Burger.
My friend had the exact same sentiments. Neither one of us could figure out the love for this place.
i agree. when i lived in nola, this place just opened up right before i left. my friends raved about it. but me? i thought it tasted like a wendy's burger. i don't get the hype, and as you stated, very, very expensive. but people now adays care more about the hype of a restaurant than the product
