I would rather watch uploaded hunting videos on youtube (mainly bird / duck hunts).

I enjoy watching Brad Farris's show because he mostly hunts in the south and really knows his stuff. I also enjoy buck commander and big league bowhunter. I'll also throw in wallhanger tv because I'm a homer.

I like watching them but honestly I don't watch much TV anyway. If I am sitting around and cant doo anything else I turn on the TV and will ususally find an "educational" show of some sort. Which usually means Outdoor Channel, Food Network, Discovery, History, etc.

Can not stand the ones where the hosts act like flat bill wearing loud obnoxious drunks from a college bar. Sadly these are increasing.

I like the ones that have a dedicated education portion on tactics, gear, shot placement, etc. Few do this though.

Oh and these:

Some are okay. I prefer turkey hunts but many are now filmed from a blind which takes a lot away from the hunt. I understand that hunting turkeys with a film crew is certainly going to be difficult though. I'm pretty much over the whitetail shows in particular.

The vids filmed by amateurs and posted on Youtube are often some of the best I've seen.

BP's conversation at his office:

Nurse: Doc, the patient in room 3 is bleeding all over the carpet

BP: Tell them to wrap some electrical tape around it and I'll be right there. I'm trying to learn how to flambay lard on Two Fat Ladies

Late 80's/early 90's Fitzgerald and Noel Feather were good videos. It was way closer to the average hunting situations than todays shows.

Todays hunting show is all about promoting the products and I know that pays the bills for those guys but 15 min of advertising to 15 min of content is crappy.

Someone should film a public land show. Hunting only land accessible to the pulic. If the guy killed a 2 yo 4 point I would have more respect for him than 95% of the other guys.

I watch them for entertainment value alone. Pigman, major leage bowhunter, heartland bowhunter and the Nuge spirit of the wild. I wont watch if they're gun hunting, unless it's pigs from a

Not big on most of the fishing or deer hunting shows. I like the duck hunting shows the most, RNTV and some others. However I can stand the ones where they fricking scream and hoot and holler after every time they pull the trigger. The DU show has some fine lil blond hosting it now, very easy on the eyes.

I don't drool over anything they kill on those shows.
Those could be pen raised deer for all I know.

That's great and all, but does it make for great TV? No. Here's why. We like to watch on TV things we like to do. If fishing, we like big fish. If deer hunting we like big racks. If porn, we like big...wait.

I could watch that, but I'd still feel like it was staged unless green jeans or some random yahoo walked underneath the stand. Seems to happen almost every time to me around 9am
