We have scheduled better opponents lately. I thought this was about Michigan. The Hurricanes haven't recovered since the last time LSU put a beating on them. Not saying Michigan has been much better, but def a better story line there.

A total ripoff? How dramatic.

It is a rip off. Taff fees don't change. Years we play 6-7 home games means higher price per game for ticket holders.

We should ALL email Alleva and tell him (nicely) how we feel about these games.

Every 4 or 5 years sure but every year,?? Come on man.

I'm working in TX and see a lot of LSU fans out here. I think games in TX would be easier for them to see. Hell, if i'm still out here, it'd be easier for me. We need to keep a foothold in TX especially now that A&M is in the SEC. I don't know if you've noticed the class they are putting together? I'd rather Miami in Dallas than North Texas at home. Y'all can go somewhere else.

I don't get this board's widespread hatred of playing openers away from Tiger Stadium. Like, I get why some people are for and against it. I see each viewpoint's arguments but people here are so damn angry about it. DFW ain't too bad to me. It's like another bowl game.

Keep a foothold in Texas.....are we not already playing there every other year? I think a lot of people who support lsu via season tickets are finally getting pisssd and dropping their tickets as evidenced by this years higher than normal attrition rate. For the season ticket holders loyalty we are being rewarded with shitty home games that if you are unable to attend, you're pretty much stuck with the tickets Bc no one wants to pay even close to face value to see that shite. This is coming from a season ticket holder who has missed 1 home game in the last 15yrs, stays the entire game, and goes to most of the away games.

It's killing our bowl attendance IMO. People want their first taste of football and its always a good opponent on Labor Day and can take a long weekend to a drivable distance. The end of the season rolls around a non hand picked opponent that's kind of lame like say I don't know Iowa in yet another nfl stadium after 12 games and having to take the 2nd off.

It's really killing the luster of bowl games.

Because I love paying $700 for a single season ticket with ONE great home game. I'm selling a pair of my 4 tickets because I took an absolute bath on tickets last season. One game I was only able to get $5 and a can of Bud Light for a ticket. And outside of a national championship, it hasn't been difficult to get bowl tickets. I don't even request games that aren't Sugar Bowl Bowl or National Title. This year I will only request Semi-Finals and Finals

How much of this neutral site game fad/drive/focus is on the SEC and not at LSU's or Alleva's doorstep? (not rhetorical, I really am wondering this)

Ole Miss, Miss St, LSU, and recently Gumps (just off top of my head) are all doing it. By the way, exempting the East's ACC or in-state matchups that existed before any of this.

And if given a choice assuming the bowl game isn't the national chmapionship, I'd rather travel for the opening game. It's much easier to make plans instead of the approx 4 week notice on bowl games.

Re all the comments that they'd prefer to play a strong OC game in Dallas vs playing a cupcake at home: note, we are playing those cup cake games anyway. This yr, opening with Wisconsin in Dallas, the home opener is a no body. Guess which game ticket I have no say so about paying beyond dropping my season tickets as a whole? As for JA doing what's best for LSU, since when is taking care of its fan base a bad thing? They can bring in $10M a season in ticket sales, but if the stadium continues to empty at half time, it won't be long before the golden goose is long gone. One bad season will be all it takes, and that happens to all the programs.

Awesome! At first I though you were talking about Michigan, which I would rather. But Miami is cool too.

Good for you ! Why not suggest we "auction/sell" several home games...say the FL game to Jacksonville, the Ole Ms game to Memphis etc. IF all these neutral site games are sooooo great for exposure, recruiting, excitement and best of all $$$$$,what would be wrong about doing it 2 or 3 times a year ?
There is a precedent for this...i.e. Vandy pimped themselves out to FL some time ago, by "selling" their home game vs. the Gators to the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville. By your theory...these neutral site games are great, virtually no downside !

Nice fallacy

I don't really enjoy tailgating when it is 100 degrees and humid. I enjoy traveling to a city for labor day

You're also assuming that other great teams want to play in Baton Rouge

I feel sorry for fans who only care about Alabama. It's like other teams on the schedule don't even matter, right? The only way a game can be great is if the opposing team is coached my Saban. Got it.

Never heard that expression before.

It appears you need better negotiation skills.
