The Browns tell Manziel to tone it down

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on SportsCenter Friday that the Browns have approached Johnny Manziel about "toning it down," with regard to his actions on social media.
Owner Jimmy Haslam was "bothered" by Manziel's recent posting of a "Money Phone" (stack of bills held to the ear) on Instagram. The Browns seem more concerned with Manziel's social media behavior than his well-publicized weekend partying. Approached by the Cleveland Plain Dealer Friday morning, Manziel told the paper "I don't think I'm doing anything wrong," and "I'm not going to change for anybody." Earlier this month, Ben Tate described media coverage of Manziel as "annoying," hinting it may be a distraction in the locker room. ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi stated Friday that he's never seen Manziel-like behavior from a Browns player. Grossi has covered the Browns for 30 years.

And so it begins. What a loser.

He should just get over that.
Although, it probably wouldn't hurt JFF to get a publicist or something to help his image.

That sounds like Mort trying to make a distraction.

They should have known what they were getting before they drafted him. Just let the kid be himself.

This actually brings up an interesting topic. Why can't he do what he wants?
I mean, I know we live in a society and almost have a set of "unspoken rules" about how we're "supposed" to act.
But he's not doing anything to anybody. He's having fun on his own time with his own people. What's it to anybody else?
The media makes it an issue. The media acts outraged and it influences other people to feel the same way about it.
If the media just left him alone, this wouldn't even be an issue. It's the media creating controversy.

It really is a shame how the media is following this dude's every move. Pretty sure he wasn't the only rookie that's enjoying himself in the offseason.
As long as he's not doing anything illegal and come football time, he's all about the business then who cares?

Cut his punk arse. He's Tebow 2.0.A system QB. A little better passer with none of the intangibles and an attitude of Ryan Leaf. Dude will be out of NFL in 4 years, dead or in prison in under 10.

A money phone? He's such a douche.

I'm no Manziel or Browns fan, but this is a prisoner of the moment sportswriter statement if I've ever seen one.
Has he ever heard of Bernie Kosar?

That's a good thing. That team and city needs a kick in the arse and JFF is the right guy to do it.

Obviously its a distraction to the team if he's not focusing on what his job is.
Remember the distractions TO and ochocinco were to their locker rooms? Manziel is that to the browns already and he hasn't taken one snap.
