Yep.
He lived in Georgia, so I asked him one year when we went to the LSU/UGA game. My wife and stepmom had walked off to look for a bathroom while we were tailgating. He didn't expect it... at all.
Luckily he said yes

No when the time comes. Wife will expect me to be a man and so will her father. Respect for the dad is shown when you treat his daughter like a woman and not kid.Asking is total Beta move that shows you don't think he raised her to make good decisions. If you're a good man to your wife and a great dad, the old man will not GAF if you ask. What happens when she files for divorce due to you not fulfilling her needs? You gonna ask him to make her change her mind or give you another chance?
