Well he died in Baton Rouge. So I guess checkmate, Cajun fans.

You see, that right there... If you consider Justin Wilson to be a representative of a Cajun, you're not from Acadiana. It's a guy from out of state, in a costume, speaking with a fake accent. He might as well be Adam Sandler.

But for Baton Rouge, "That's Cajun".

They just trademarked "geaux cajuns". I'm sure yall could trademark "geaux tigers".
Probably 20 years ago someone could have trademarked just "geaux"...but not anymore

LSU already has Geaux Tigers trademarked

What's the problem with schools trademarking "Geaux [INSERT NAME HERE]"?

Apparently, some fans from the "Cajun Capitol of Baton Rouge" don't like that universities in towns that are actually
part of Acadiana use "Geaux."

Apparently, there are some fans at University of Louisiana of Lafayette, that think that just because they trademarked Geaux Cajuns that they own the word Geaux and nobody can use it,but them

Nothing. Some folks grow up in a fishbowl and assume that every tradition in their hometown must be specific to their locale. They don't realize that universities and high schools around the state have been using the same cheers since the 1960's. But since their focus is on their neck of the woods, they assume that everyone is poaching on their history.

I went to and graduated from both schools and can tell you the stereotype of the ULL student body, e.g., (affliction/tapout/EHardy...), is just that. Those guys are drop outs from Rayne/Carencro/Breaux Bridge/New Iberia high schools, and never set foot on campus. The atmosphere around (USL at the time) was much less pretentious than LSU, people were much more cordial and easy going by a large margin.
