I prefer Royal Oak. It's cheap and lumpy.

Briquettes are for conformist.

Definitely on board with lump charcoal. Since buying a green egg started using in my large BBQ pit as well.

Kingsford regular. I buy 2-packs at SAMs, and usually end up burning 60% charcoal and 40% wood (cherry, pecan, oak, persimmon, etc.) while cooking.

Never use propane unless my mom and dad ask me to grill at their house.

I use Kingsford bc it's what's at my grocery store. I live near this custom BBQ pit store that sells lump coal, I've been meaning to try it.

As far as propane goes I've got nothing against it, I just like building a fire.

I usually buy in bulk, so I buy whatever I can find on sale at the time.

I use natural lump charcoal, and use a chimney to get first coals started without using lighter fluid. Although lump is more expensive, it is all natural, burns better, and leaves fewer ashes.
