I tend to agree.

Dude is 80 and has plenty of money. What does he have to lose? If I were in his position, I would give the NBA a double and make this as ugly as possible. He can play the role of the angry bitter old rich man to the hilt here.

How do you see a court allowing the NBA to force him to sell something he owns?

Sterling will win the lawsuit, and after that he should build a new Clippers team by signing all of the best white players in the league.

By them showing the constitution (specifically the part where NBA owners can vote to have another owner removed) and his signature agreeing to it?

They keep referring to this, but I haven't seen the consitution, and I don't see how it will hold up in court.

the real question is whether each owner's vote will be made public. If this is a private vote, I could see the commission having a hard time getting the other owners to agree. The abrupt action by the commissioner is bad for the NBA owners. The NBA Players' Union must be licking their chops. This is a terrible precedent if you are an owner.

No he won't. At the end of the day the NBA has right to include people in their association as they see fit

People forget he owns a franchise that is in the NBA. It's not a seperate private business

Doesn't matter if you or I have seen it. It has been confirmed as real by owners, the commissioner, and other parties (ESPN legal analyst, etc). And if it does have the section giving the right to the majority owners to vote out another owner and there is proof that Sterling agreed to that, I do not think he's winning this one.

Honest question for you or anyone else

You think the owners will vote this guy out based upon a private recording from the man's home that did not break any laws?

Sounds like a bad precedent to set if they can be removed from ownership for something like that.

Any owner voting for Sterling would be committing career suicide simply based on the risk of the vote becoming public like so many other private things do these days

Yes, they will

Idk why so many people are caught up on breaking laws or losing his rights, etc...

A private business such as the NBA can do whatever they want to protect their company. You don't have to break any laws to get firedfrom a company you work for

Abso-freakin-lutely! There's already one owner on record stating that the vote will be 29-0 and Silver would not have even begun this if he didn't know he had the votes he needed.

I see this as leverage for him, it will get the NBA to push hard for him to sell and will create demand, people will be fighting to give him a frick ton of money.

But remember, the league accepted his ownership years ago. They would have to prove he is in breach of contract. Without seeing that contract, it's tough to determine at this point.

They did. And he agreed to abide by the NBA constitution and whatever rules they have in it. It's a privelage to own a team in the NBA, it's not his right

Just like a neighborhood association can take action against a homeowner if they feel they are not keeping up with their standards. Doesn't have to be illegal
