That's disappointing. I thought Shaq was more mature than that.

I am glad he apologized.

I started a thread about this on the OT yesterday and was attacked because I offended Shaq fans.

I honestly don't think Shaq had any evil or spite in his heart when he did this. He is a big, dumb, goofy, kid.... He is a goofball and from what I have read, a good guy.

He made a mistake, he apologized, and all is well in the world.

If only people were so level headed with all instances like this.

Shaq doesn't have mean bone in his body. I'm sure he was just joking around, albeit in poor taste.

People will say he is getting off easy by just apologizing. I hope he really goes out of his way to help the guy and we never hear about it, that's the classy way to handle it.

Was Shaq the guy who called the player with a hairless disorder "Chemo Boy"?

Shaq is an idiot...I've never understood why people think he's funny or clever. He's a fricking idiot and now worse. Mocking the disabled is never acceptable but kids do it until they learn, and a 42 yr old man mocking a disabled person...

He's not...this is the media myth regarding Shaq.

I tend to think that the #mockingthedisabled Shaq and "Kobe how my arse taste" rapping Shaq ... is the real Shaq.

Why not? Can disabled people not handle it or something?

No room for nuance in your world, huh?

This. I guess we should treat them all in a condescending kid glove manner because it's our burden as their betters.

The guy is disabled, but his outlook on life should be an example to all. Why anyone woud mock a guy like this is beyond me.

I'm not sure but has it been confirmed that shaq knew that the pic was of a disabled kid before he posted it? We all seem to post gifs and make fun of the "wat" lady. Could it be possible he saw this pic and figured it was just some weird pic he was mimicking to be funny? I really don't know but shaqs demeanor through the years just doesn't come across as someone who would knowingly make fun of someone in that position like it was portrayed

Kinda like this, perhaps?

Begs the question ... was he calling Sacramento a bunch of women ... or a bunch of homos?

I really don't recall David Stern intervening.

Oh ... and for the record ... LMAO at that Shaq video. I thought it was funny then ... and, I think it's funny now.

For me, this is far worse than Sterling. It takes a warped person to think that this is funny. That it has over 14k likes is unbelievable.

Given that you've spent the last three days defending Sterling, this shouldnt come as a shock to anyone.

He should definitely be banned from the NBA for life, fined 2.5 million, and then be forced to sell his NBA franchise.
