As for the second, who the frick knows. It is kind of nice to know that most of the home games on my last year as a student will be at night though.

How do you know that?

Beside the fact that we have a shitty home schedule.

How could he get laughed out the room when all he did was say "we'd prefer night games". There was never some false hope that some new contract was going to be signed all of a sudden. I think that's what you're looking for but reasonable people understand it doesn't work that way.

They won't be happy till a contract with the networks and the SEC say no day games for LSU which will never happen, ever. Unless this happens Alleva is a spineless idiot puppet who kisses arse to the networks and the SEC.

He was pretty confident tonight at the Tiger Tour with his boss and board chairman in the room.

It kind of makes sense I guess. The cupcake games that'll be broadcast on the SEC Network or ESPN will likely be 6pm kick offs. It sounds like the Bama game will get picked up for the CBS time slot. And, I'm not sure which games Ole Miss and LSU run concurrent to, but if that's the only one during the day, then I'm fine with that.

How do you know it's false hope? He's passing along what he was told by the networks.

If he did nothing you'd say he has not guts to stand up to the SEC and the networks. He says something and now it's putting out false hopes

How is it offensive to say "I've heard your complaints and I've passed them along to the networks."

Not a response to Mickey, just the wave I'm catching.

I doubt Joe has much leverage with Slive/SEC. If he wanted to get serious he would have to get some sort of coalition with A&M and Arky and maybe the Mississippi schools - not easily done.

On the other hand, if Joe was serious about preserving TS's tradition, he would purge that infidelic piped-in music from the campus, do away with handing out pom-poms, and have TGBFTL maintain a ceaseless barrage of Neck, etc for the afternoon TV audiences to hear.

Play chicken with "Neck" until it yields results. I'm down with that.

I'm enthused by the notion that Alleva believes that E$PN and CB$ will help with more night games this season and beyond...

but the thing that irks me about the letter (and I know it's small and petty so b*tch at me if you want) ...Alleva never once uses the name Death Valley. you want to know why Clemson keeps trying to steal the thunder for that nickname from us, because even our own freakin' AD doesn't use the moniker.

the phrase Dan Borne says isn't "Ladies and Gentlemen, it's saturday night in Tiger Stadium..." NO...

it's Death Valley Joe...Saturday Night In Death Valley... for frick's sake.

Verbatim from the letter. Now I know it doesn't say they signed a contract so it probably doesn't mean anything to you. But he didn't leave out that they made no commitment.

Now how that translates practically, or what the limit is, I can't tell you. Honestly I couldn't care less. If I'm not attending the game in person, I prefer 2:30 kickoffs. If I am attending I like the later games. But I've never gotten my panties in a bunch over the start time of a football game, and I don't plan on starting any time soon.

Continuous improvement? Have you read this thread? It's fricking comical how grown arse men can whine bitch and complain as much as most of these morons do. I'm convinced they're women.

There ya go. Plus, let's say LSU/Ole Miss (10/25) may be either a 2:30 CBS game or a 7:15 ESPN/SEC Network game....I say have it at night.

Let me get this straight, for two years fans have bitched about playing too many day games and said Alleva needed to stand up to the SEC and CBS. Ostensibly he has now done that, and people are bitching that it was either not by his own doing, merely lip service from the networks, or are pissed that he forfeited nationally televised prime time broadcasts?
