Princeton, to be exact.
Part of me wants to squash it now. But just to humor myself, I filled out a Net Price Calculator. They have crazy scholarship packages.
Would cost me about $7000/year.
Talk me out of pursuing it. Rhodes is her top choice and it is going to cost about $11k a year after scholarships.

The two schools are not comparable or in the same league.
I am much more likely to talk you out of Rhodes College.

Why on earth would she not accept?

If you can afford to send your daughter to Princeton to study a real degree (not some BS liberal arts, but a degree that offers great career prospects like engineering, accounting, finance, or the pure sciences) I wouldn't hesitate.

The Ivy league schools are true bastions of liberalism. When she got her test scores back, we talked about it and she said she liked Rhodes and Berry, possibly Vanderbilt.
Now she's asking questions about Princeton. At least its the most conservative of the Ivies.
Mom is freaking out at the thought of having baby girl that far away. But its a great opportunity. She's a junior, so she hasn't been accepted, but is being invited to apply based on her grades and test scores.

I agree.

The liberal brain washing is pretty intense. Even smart students take years and even decades to shake it off.

Considering the prestige (and cost) of Princeton compared to Rhodes or other options, why wouldn't you want her to go there?
She's not getting a liberal arts degree - which is where the bourgeoisie progressive shite gets taught - so why not send her to one of the best universities on the planet?

part of the reason why a school like princeton is held in the regard it is, is due to its liberal arts programs

Would never talk someone out of Princeton unless another top tier was more desirable to the kid. While I dont prescribe to the idea that the education is light years ahead of other quality Universities, the door is easier to pass through with that on her resume.

That's a great deal on a solid education. Worth it, imo. Congrats

This is what I wanted to hear. So, if she's in Biomedical Engineering, she won't have a ton of the progressive shite?

possibly Vanderbilt.
This would be a very solid choice, but Vandy is not nearly as generous with aid as the Ivy League schools, so you could end up with a monster bill.
My cousin had a 4.0+, 34 ACT, and numerous extracurriculars....but because the family is wealthy, he has to pay the entirety of the cost of attendance. I think it is close to 60,000 a year.

I say infiltrate the liberal bubble and be a conservative classroom gadfly. That would be a great learning experience.

i bet you $10 that she ends up majoring in a liberal arts while taking science classes for the MCAT
