What's located in the 41 field?

What's located in the 41 field?
Somebody would have to pay Chevron a lot of money, and EPL and EXXI would have been the most likely candidates.
Plus it is one of their core GOM fields. I don't see this happening.

So who is gonna buy Halliburton's MWD/DD division that was announced a few days ago will be for sale?

Heard GE was looking at the bits

Those Security FX bits used to drill the hell out of some curves in the Haynesville. Sperry also has some nice high temp LWD tools. Interested to see how this plays out. I always just figured they would combine BHI with Sperry.

Drill bits are small potatoes. Schlumberger and Baker both have better bit product lines than Halliburton.
But whoever buys Sperry's MWD/DD division will have a giant on there hands. They have a pretty big market share, especially here in the gulf.

Correct the bits are small potatoes. Halliburton PDC's are not that bad but there tricones are fawkin junk.

Uhhhh, not really. SLB and BHI have the Gulf sewn up. Sperry mud logging is doing well in the Gulf, but MWD/DD have been slow for quite awhile.
Granted I was wrong earlier in the thread about buying CVX and PACD... but DGD will work eventually so I could still be proven right.

Memorial is hot right now in NWLA/NELA.
As a supplier, they are my bread and butter during this downturn.
They have teamed up/overtaken Wildhorse near Ruston, production was hedged in the $90 range and they are bringing in quite a few rigs. Count at the moment in that particular area is somewhere around 10.

How much longer are they hedged for? Those contracts usually only last 6-8 months. They should be expiring soon. 10 is a lot of rigs for a small independent in this market, I'm guessing they are targeting shallow conventional plays?
It appears they are in the terryville, all gas with some condensate if I remember correctly.
