I was thinking Mike Anderson's, but I typed Drusilla. I corrected my post. Thanks for pointing it out.

My brother works near it, went and met him for lunch, place is awful.

Last ate there in '04 and it was very good then.

I agree with this.

I eat lunch there about 5 or 6 times per year when I meet with the orthodontic and endodontic specialists I refer to. It's midway between our offices so it's convenient.
I have never had a bad meal there and their lunch service is quick, usually in and out in about an hour.
It is frequented by little old ladies and also seems to have organized business meetings going on when I'm there. I usually get the fish Louisisana, a nice fillet topped with eggplant with shrimp. This dish is really good.
Last time I had a redfish special topped with crawfish and a beurre blanc and this served with their potatoes and salad was delicious.
Their hush puppies are very good as well.
I bet most posters on this thread haven't eaten here at all.
I will admit, I haven't eaten dinner here since the mid eighties so I can't comment about dinner service. Lunch is actually quite good.

We would go there for family dinners in the mid '80's. Great times. Always a treat. Since then, I've only been two or three times. No bad meals ever, but the early ones were special. I need to go back.

Yes, they are. Along with their sensation salad and their fried crab claws.

Can't beat their Monday night oyster special.

I don't enjoy it at all, however, I have friends who love the place. I there are a lot of restaurants meant for people who prefer essentially the same cuisine they have been eating for 40 years, nothing wrong with that, and Druscilla fits that mold.
If you like things like fish covered with sauces, shrimp cocktails, hush puppies, fried seafood and can't get enough, go to Druscilla.

Their fried seafood isn't that great, honestly. Their fried shrimp are the size of a penny.

This. I had their Fish Almandine (sic) with Meuniere sauce at lunch the last time I was there and it rocked. Under ten bucks as I recall.

I attend a business meeting there every few months.
We always have the boiled shrimp and hush puppies.
It is always very good, but that is the only dish I have had there in the last 15 years.

We went there for the Monday night oyster special a while back. I though it was pretty good and the price was right, my wife said it made her sick. There are better places in town and there are worse places in town. And if work is paying for it, get some fried seafood, a few beers and dig in.

Idk why anyone would talk trash about Drusilla or Mike Anderson's. Imo, those are two of the best seafood restaurant's in BR, and I'm 22.
But today Donnie Jarreau announced he's buying the shopping center. Sooooo yea, well see what happens there, could turn into a Long John Silver's.
Food, you have to get the hushpuppies and the amandine is out of this world. Oysters are a steal too.

So much this! I've only eaten there a couple times, and that was nearly 10 years ago, but I remember it being out of date by 20 years 10 years ago. They need a serious remodel. I remember the food being so-so. I'm a transplant, so if you put crab claws and average blackened fish in front of me, I'm a happy camper.

Amazing how these restaurant threads seem to go. They typically start with some bad reviews, criticisms, negative comments piled on top of one another. Then, someone drops a compliment and changes the momentum, and they're followed by a string of good reviews. It's almost like people are afraid to say they actually like a place for fear of being scorned. Then, one brave soul takes the plunge, and others get brave enough to 'fess up. Odd, huh?

The one in the French Quarter sucks. Had to send the crab fingers back. They were old, way old. Place is a tourist trap.

Watching the life cycle of a seafood restaurant in BR is a lot like watching a celebrity biopic movie. They start out small, grow in popularity, get a bigger place, branch out, then comes the down cycle. The product becomes stale and dated, newer trends pass them by, the fan base ages into apathy.
