regime?
its the only one square issue that me and my pops completely disagree on and we see eye to eye on most issues
once people who are in their 30s now get into office do you think that's when we'll see at least medicinal legalized?
just curious on your thoughts

They are having arguments on it right now.
Badon has a bill that will lower penalties for use. The DA's are okay with it, but the Sherriff's association is fighting it.
They will fight legalization tooth and nail.
But in ten years, I doubt it's still illegal.

yeah i read all about it, and i personally think its bc the people still in strong places of power are still of that old thought process, when the Gen X'ers get in power (its close to happening) i think legalization is inevitable

Yea, the cops want to keep the jails full so they can put more money in their pockets. Will be interesting to watch it play out but the younger generation is definitely behind Badon. Parents... not so much

Why is smoking pot such a huge issue for the younger generation?

im not a pot smoker, but for one its not a "drug" in the sense of other drugs....less harmful than alcohol or tobacco, and it could better our economy to an extent with tax dollars, while also somewhat hurting the cartel and putting thugs out of business on the streets

You don't think that law enforcement agencies make money from pot being illegal?

If you want to hurt the cartels, then you really need to legalize cocaine, meth etc. Pot's too easy to grow on your own and it's not addictive.

Tough to buy borderline military hardware without the drug war funding.

Tell that to my cousin who died from pot withdrawal.

yeah but unfortunately the majority of smokers don't grow it on their own, they buy

I'm 43 and have never smoked, but I see it as a liberty issue. Absolutely no reason at all most drugs ought not be legal while other, clearly as or more dangerous substances (tobacco and alcohol) are legal due to their money and political power.
Assuming you like freedom, this really is a no brainer.

It's still illegal at the federal level and almost all states.
Since we are older we have seen the outcome of our pothead friends from high school and it isn't something we want our kids or their friends to become. I cannot think of one of potheads that I grew up with only stuck to pot.

That's probably what he meant. I doubt he thinks that individual policemen make money from pot being illegal. If he does, he is an idiot, though.

This is false. MJ funds most of their hard drug operations. Take away their MJ profits and the rest will take a hit.

So you're going with the gateway drug argument? Do you not think that alcohol is a gateway drug, too?
