You know we will have Wisconsin in Geen Bay and now Syracuse away in the same year? Alleva is just great

Before bashing the guy, get your facts right. We play in Green Bay in 2016, Syracuse is 2015.

"Another way is praising the fact that we're actually doing a legit home and home."

I'm with Harry. The tickets, with all of the fees, have gotten very expensive over the years, but with the rent-a-wins and games getting moved to TV, we get fewer "good" games in Tiger Stadium. I welcome the home and home with the Cuse and hope to see more home and homes.

Not really.

Yes really, don't call me out when you have no idea what you are talking about. They haven't finished a season ranked in 13 years. There are 35 bowl games. If you think them being one of the teams that sometimes fills one of those 70 slots means they are a good program, then you must think there are about 90+ good programs. Hell, ULL and Tulane both when to bowl games last year and ULL has gone to 3 in a row. I would still be HIGHLY disappointed to have a home and away with them.

You know we can't just pick a team to play and they have to play us, right?
While neither of us know what goes on behind the scenes, I think the vast majority of fans would rather play a Tulane type at home over a home and away with a far away crappy opponent like syracuse. Unless we were in desperation mode for some reason, I would be surprised if we couldn't have done much better.

But I thought we hated neutral site games?
Link? Or did you see one or two people say something so now you think that is the consensus?

How many in this thread would even consider going if it wasnt within 5 hours driving distance, regardless of oppent? Its hard to match a quality ooc opponent, especially when you play in the best conference, as most of the more exciting matchups are already on the schedule.

Makes absolutely no difference from "exposure" standpoint either.

Louisiana people get pushed around all the time in negotiations. Syracuse will get the game and find a way to cancel the return trip. LSU will go OK and shove Western Texas A&M or North Dakota State University.

I'm tired of all the bitching about Alleve and scheduling. As much as you don't want to admit it, he is doing a damn good job as AD. Problem is you can't see that and probably feel it was better under the good ole boys like Joe Dean. You bitch because we play a decent non conference game against Syracuse but it's on the road. If we did not have the game we probably play some State school or 1-AA team at home and you'd still bitch.

I hope that isn't the highest rated OOC team we play in 2015.

I wish we can connect with some real cool home and home like USC and Ohio St.

Alleva sucks. He gets railroaded at every turn in the interests of other schools in the SEC or nationally. Whether its permanent opponents, TAMUs thanksgiving day game, night games, tailgating, away games etc. Heck he was on the tourney committee and the SEC only gets 2 in the real tourney with UK as an 8 seed and 1 play in "first rounder". Way to go Joe.

People have no clue what it takes to be AD at a major school like LSU. Like I said before you probably thought it was better in the good ole days with Joe Dean and Curly Hallman. We had plenty of Night games then, and cheap tickets too.

So you're saying this is the result of superior leverage exerted by Syracuse? Get real. Look, I'm biased because I get to attend a relatively close by game where LSU is playing. I realize Syracuse is not a sexy matchup, but some of you need to check in with reality and realize that we can't just point to a team and have them agree to play us.

The dude got beat down by frigging Aggie and came across like we were lucky to get day after thanksgiving at home. We are a damn charter member 2 time BCS national title CWS winning final four appearing school all in the last decade who has made a shite load of money for the league. We should be dictating terms for that match up not the other way around.

Is this really the way it went down or has this achieved so sort of urban legend status?

Probably urban legend status. It like people think Alleva can just go to the SEC and say no we won't it do it and the SEC will down down to us and say OK.
