Kiffin was at Ole Miss for six years and only had three OL get drafted, one 4th rounder and two 7th rounders. Ole Miss also had more rushing yards than anyone in the SEC during that same timespan. I don't know how long it will take to pick up his system but its probably fair to say this is the most talented OL Kiffin has had since he was the OC at Bama.

I think it is stupid to think mid-tier players can't transfer and have success. I also think it is stupid to point to a few success examples as justification why it should be expected. Skenes was the #2 player in the portal, Dickinson and Eyanson were preseason all-americans. EVERYBODY wanted these guys. Luis Hernandez was a pleasant surprise and what you hope to get when you sign these guys, but he is the exception.
Mid-tier isn't the problem, hitting 300 (current BA) as a sophomore at Kent St is nice but in my non-expert view, he is the type you fill out late remaining spots with and hope to hit gold.
I'm no scout but this sounds like the sane type that Jay missed on this season, solid mid-tier stats that you hope translates to SEC ball.
Commit the money to a few obvious big time players, fill out the depth with high ceiling freshman. Use remaining spots on Kent St types, don't start with them.

This is not the same game as 5-10 years ago. High school five star QBs don’t have nearly the same value they did now that we are in the age of the transfer portal. Certainly you aren’t going to pay TWO top tier high school kids to sit on your roster for a year just for one or both to leave. Even more so when you can go pay an experienced college qb to come in and start

100 seems a lot less crazy then it did one week ago, we hit 15 since then to raise our total to 56.

Last year our C, 2B, 3B, CF, #2SP, and several other pitchers were transfers, no shot at a title without them
2023 had C, 3B, #1SP (#1 ever), several key RPs, can't remember on LF and DH.
Regardless, the portal has been critical in both championships amd even if you miss some years, you do it again.

Aggies - Preseason #1 last year to not even making the postseason under a new coach, don't see any reason to expect much more this year.
Tennessee - Similar situation as the aggies the year before, lost their really good coach but still came in with high expectations. You should absolutely expect a slide, how far is yet to be determined but losing 2 of 3 to Kent state is a terrible start
Miss St - Also a new coach, but a proven winner. Personally I am sold on this being a legit team.

The lesson here is don't judge based on early information, do not take this as a reason to trust defense attorneys.
I would have paid a lot for that. It was clearly worn a lot, I don't understand how someone's kids or grandkids could have parted with that but I guess someone needed money more than the ring.

He had a great first game for a freshman. It is way too early to declare him a generational talent. TJ Finley by comparison had a better first game starting as a true freshman (against a harder opponent) than Underwood,

Harold Perkins would have to have a first team All-American season to be in that discussion. Athletically, they are in the same discussion but performance based it is easily Devin White.
