Yeah they are both good though. Did you stuff the quail with something?
Posted on 2/22/14 at 7:38 pm to MikeD
A spoonful of wild rice. However, I believe the rice may have been grown by a farmer, so I want to be careful not to raise any red flags with that term.

Remember when I was young growing up in a small country town in Alabama, anyone would let you hunt their fields.... Times have changed and you can't find a place to hunt them anymore
Looks like some good times and good eating

Popping the breast is such a waste.

If I could choose one animal to hunt, it would be quail...

Hope that some day you can!
In the mean time, I'll keep swinging at these kind. They flushed well and taste great!
Trying the fajitas tonight!

What the frick is the deal bacon wrapping everything...I mean...I love Bacon, but if I wanted to taste bacon I'd eat bacon...I like the natural flavors of whatever I take for the most part.

My 2 cents on pen raised vs. wild. Yes, wild birds are harder to hunt and hit but if you live in the south and like dogwork you will have to shoot pen raised at least some. Also, growers are doing a much better job of raising good flying birds now. As a whole they flush and fly much better than 10-15 years ago.
My only point is not to let pen raised hold you back because it is a sport worth continuing in any form we can.
