Santa Barbara. Was there for a wedding weekend (for a friend from NJ who was working at the time in Santa Barbara) and ran into a friend of mine's younger sister (originally from SWLA) randomly while coming out of a bar.

Didn't happen to me but my sister had an exchange student a few years back from Germany. They take her to New Orleans one weekend to see the sights and while near Jackson Square she over hears a couple speaking German. She starts up a conversation with them and come to find out they are from the same town back in Germany as she is and they only live a couple miles down from her on the same street. Small world indeed.

Scruffy ran into someone he went to high school with at the Flying Pig Hostel in Amsterdam. Completely unexpected.

Scruffy walks in to check in and does a double take when he sees him chilling in the smoking room. Good times.

I was working at Foot Locker in a mall in Skokie, IL when I helped a guy that looked very familiar with some shoes. He asked me where I was from/went to high school. Told him BR/CHS turns out he was a teacher there while I was there. Never had him as a teacher though.

Also ran into a guy I played football with in HS in the Atlanta airport.

I've had 2 events of note:

Summer 09 I was studying abroad and was in Prague out late one night with a couple good buds from the program. Out of nowhere we see one of our best buds in the cab queue who was studying abroad in Germany that summer. Had no idea he was visiting Prague that weekend.

2 I was on a road trip with my family in New England and we stopped at a tobacco shop in Connecticut near the ma border. Our uncles brother strolls up in the middle of a 30 mile bike trip from his hometown in ma and buys a couple stogies. Parents hadn't seen him since their wedding (dad's sister's husband's brother). 1000 miles from home

Titty Bar in Atlanta nearly 25 yrs ago. I was tipping a dancer at the end of a stage and turned to head back to my seat away from the stage and then.....I saw........him........ It was a Deacon from a local church. We locked eyes for a second, I nodded, and he turned and headed out of the club. Shame he did not stay and have a beer with me. CSB.

1992- On travel to the Aberdeen, MD area. Never eaten anywhere near Aberdeen and asked a few folks in a meeting where to get some decent seafood. They stated Harve De Grace- McGregors- it's on the Chesapeake Bay (right off I 95). I traveled up from Huntsville, AL. My parents lived at West Point, NY. As I was eating (Monday night- light crowd) my parents walked into the restaurant......talk about small world. They didn't know I was traveling- I didn't know they were passing trhu from DC to NY.
