I watched Cecil Collins' highlights a few months ago and he was great, but he was stopped, too. He only played 3 games. What makes him better than Hill?

I do not see it.

I don't think many think that? I don't!! Mayb talent or ability but that never happened so..... No he's not better IMO as an LSU back.

I saw him play for Leesville several times. He was the best High School RB I've ever seen.

this is why his legend has grown to the ridiculous level it is today. he was a great back but there are a many who will never admit there is or was a better back than cecil Collins. he had 3 games and dominated all three.

Sometimes all you have to do is do something a few times well in front of a large audience and never do it again.

Faulk was better.

Cecil was an amazing player. One if the best i ever saw in tiger stadium. But the body of work makes him a bad comparison to Hill.

Here are those 3 games:

22 carries for 172 yards, (7.8 YPC)
27 carries for 232 yards, (8.6 YPC)
20 carries for 179 yards, (9.0 YPC)

Even after the injury, the drug test, the Mcneese experience, Cecil was in the NFL and doing a good job...before he was peeping on that girl.

The Deisel, while short lived, was clearly the best running back to play for the Tigers in the last 25 years

It was crazy how much Hill looked liked Collins against Auburn in 1997 during the 1st half against Auburn this season. M

Cecil was a very exciting back but Hill, who is also exciting, didn't flame out after three games. Therefore, Hill is a superior player. He's still playing and will likely reach his potential, whatever that may be. Collins didn't come close to reaching his potential. Collins' story is a sad tragedy.

If I had to pick two LSU RBs I would take Collins and then Faulk. That's how good he was.

Eyeball test.

That's really all you have with Cecil Collins.

I actually agree that Collins was better.

Hill is one of the best running backs LSU has ever had and has actually done it for two seasons.

Cecil came out of the backfield faster than any RB I've ever seen. It was like he was full speed when he hit the line. But he was messed up in the head and who really knows if he could've done it for a whole year.
