Made a big pot of white bean soup w/ a left over meaty ham bone. We'll be good through this little cold snap.

Crawfish, shrimp, & okra gumbo & I'm gonna drop a couple of eggs to poach in the juice just before serving.

Ok, what is Buffalo Chicken Dip?
Don't think I've seen it before.
Are you being sarcastic?
I thought it was super popular for gameday parties.
Anyway, here's a rough draft of a typical recipe:
8 oz cream cheese
8 oz blue cheese
1/2-3/4 cup of Louisiana hot sauce
2 cups shredded or diced grilled chicken (some use canned chicken)
A few green onions
Monterrey Jack
Salt
Pepper
Mix everything together except monterrey jack in an oven proof dish that's fat and not long. Cover it with the monterrey jack. Bake in oven at 350 until top is brown.
Serve with fritos or tortilla chips.
We're going healthier. Instead of cream cheese, we're using half plain greek yogurt and half sour cream. Won't be a thick and filling, but still good.

I made this bigass pot of cabbage soup last night but didn't eat much due to a duck gumbo that had my attention. I'm gonna wear it out this evening.

Lighting a fire tonight, taking down the ornaments/decoration with championship game on the tube, and killing off the holiday turkey/sausage gumbo.

My wife made a big Chicken tortilla soup yesterday.
It was awesome and a good change of pace from the usual gumbo.

That cabbage soup looks tasty. What's your base for that, if I may ask?

Never made it before. Just came up with it on the fly cause the wife is on one of her semi annual no carb kicks. Turned out pretty damn good. Browned off 1 lb of ground venison and 1 lb of Andouille. Removed and sautéed onions, celery, jalapenos, and garlic. Added chopped carrots, 1.5 heads of chopped cabbage, sliced button mushrooms, 2 diced tomatoes, 2 jars homemade tomato sauce, 1 bag of whole tomatoes, 1 small can of tomato paste and a bunch of beef stock. Added back the meat. Cooked down for about 2 hours.

I made a chicken soup last night from a friend of mine's recipe. She's Jewish (I'm not prejudice.. it's a chicken soup thing..) Her grandmother's recipe.
In olive oil, brown a chicken that's cut into 8 pieces and remove from pan.
Saute 1 onion, 1 bunch of leeks (whites only) and 3 chopped celery stalks.
Add 2 bunches of chopped carrots
2 diced zuccinis
1 small to med turnip diced
salt, black and red pepper
Cook the vegetables down and then add
1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
8 cups chicken broth
Reintroduce the chicken, bring to a boil.
Reduce the fire, cover and simmer for an hour and 30 minutes.
Add 3 cloves minced garlic and a handful of chopped parsley, simmer 15 more minutes.
I love Whole Foods Chicken Soup and this soup made Whole Foods taste like Campbell's in a can.
