yellow lines are loop we rode in boat over and again. yellow box is where we were hunting.

we walked most of that chunk of marsh looking...

my guess/hope is he ended up on high ridge - outlined by red line.

name is grizzly - GSP wearing a vest.

shite, just saw this. I sure hope someone picked him up and just haven't given you a call yet or a duck hunter finds him early this morning.

Years back I had a Boxer at the camp in the marsh below Amelia. He took off while sighting guns in, he spent 11 days in the marsh before we found him. Had some battle wounds and was around 20lbs lighter. Good luck finding him man!!

Best of luck man, I hope someone picked him up and calls you. I don't think i could handle my dog being lost. I'd have to find a way to hack into a government satellite or something.

I do not see him yet. The levee looks dry and sunny from here. I may jog that after I put the boat up.

You have a pic of the dog? Age, size, color, breed might help, too?

Don't give up hope.

Two years ago, my buddy lost his dog on a long retrieve, and like you, looked until past the point of exhaustion. He had his two young sons with him, on 5 and the other 7.

They went back the next day at daylight, and had no luck. Sometime past lunchtime, my buddy decides to have "a funeral for Lucky". He explained to his boys that Lucky wasn't coming back, told them he had walked across the Rainbow Bridge into dog heaven, and all they could do now was to say a prayer for him, and thank God for the years of loyal service and companionship that Lucky had given them all.

So, they said a prayer for Lucky.

About 5 seconds after the Amen was said, my buddies cell phone rang. Another hunter had found him in the marsh, approximately 7 miles from where he was last seen.

Zero embellishment in that story. It's all true.

Good luck dude. I've been keeping up with this thread. Hope you find your dog. I know I was going crazy when my pup was lost for about a day.

Incredible, fellars.

I would like to officially nominate this as thread of the year 2014.

Someone page Chicken to check this out. Maybe he can get the thread on the new home page to raise awareness. OB needs recognition for the people that post over here.

Ya'll are some classy Mf'ers

Oh, I just realized. I have a friend, ex fed USFW agent, with a seaplane that flies out of Lakeshore all the time.

I will get in touch with him to see if he'll be flying tomorrow.

Email me and I will get you contact info if he is willing to fly

I am not necessarily an avid fisherman and less avid of a hunter but love coming to the OB to read the stories, see the pictures and lurk. I've been glued to this story all week. Just want you to know that there are some lurkers out here saying prayers and pulling for you and the pup.
