Has a FCS school ever had a 5 star guy come to the school out of HS?

I know that they have had a transfer to an FCS school that is a 5 star. Has an FCS school every beat out FBS schools for a top prospect? I have looked an cannot find anything.

Didn't William & Mary or James Madison get one a few years ago?

Only way I could see this happen is a academic, personal, or discipline situation.
Maybe someone didn't qualify for a FBS school
Maybe someone signed with a BCS school, got in trouble in the spring and had to enroll at a FCS school to play that next fall

is southern miss a FCS school? if so, they got deandre brown in 2008.

Im from Hattiesburg and Deandre Brown was a 5* that came to USM over just about everyone including LSU. Pretty sure USM being in CUSA is an FCS school but im not positive to be honest.

Southern Miss is about the only non-big conference school I can recall landing a 5* in recent years. I don't know if any have landed at FCS schools directly out of HS though. Even if the kid has academic issues, some strings will be pulled for his talents.

Wasn't he the one that had the horrific leg injury?

I couldn't find any 5* that went FCS browsing through 247 though.

Yeah, in the New Orleans Bowl I think. I was watching the game when it happened. Pretty crazy. The defensive man covering him on the pass almost grabbed his leg because Brown had it up in the air pointed towards the guy. Then he saw it and started waving for help, if I recall.

What about Bubby Brister to NLU who was 1AA at the time? Or did he transfer from somewhere else? There weren't stars back then, but I remember my Dad saying Bear Bryant came to Monroe to recruit him.

I went through the Rivals 5 stars since 2002 and didn't see any 5 stars commit to a FCS school.
Closest I saw was the #28 prospect (4 star) commit to Western Michigan who is almost an FCS school.

Are people actually asking if southern miss is an fcs school? Is this thread full of moms?

Norman Bradford broke my heart one time in 1989. Bunkie Panther's could have been in the Dome if that gifted arse whip was not playing that night.
