I'm pretty sure dogs aren't allowed at the farmer's market.

If Yarbirds chicken (from Zachary) is there, get their stock bones and a whole chicken. They are by the shrimp people, so get some shrimp. The pork peeps are at that end as well and there family farm raised pork is top notch - PORK BELLY!!!!

In the middle are various vegetables, so take your pick as you head to the end of the MKT where you will find grassfed beef and goat from Tylertown, MS. Get some of everything - their cheese is good too.

If you go inside and see a really nice looking slim girl selling handcrafted soaps, do yourself a favor and get a bar of Patchouli and Sandalwood soap and use it - your lady will love it!

There's a sign as soon as you get to the one here that says 'No Dogs Allowed'.

To answer your original question though, I usually buy some local apples, peaches, pears, watermelon, or cantaloupe every week. Tastes way better than the grocery store fruit.

Cherokee Purple tomatoes when they are available. Some other heirloom varieties, because I love tomatoes. I'll pick up some cheese and bread too, if it looks good.

I sell my catfish fillets at ours in Delcambre. Also make Catfish Boulettes, Seafood Patties, Stuffed Peppers to sell cooked and frozen. Sometimes I bring the Cajun Hibachi out there and do some stir fry or shrimp dishes. Our market is once a month and we have it this Saturday.

To answer the question, I don't get a lot of produce because I find that the produce market is cheaper, but I'll get some.

They have an AMAZING dip called Better Cheddar that I like. They also have fresh churned butter.. local honey.. homemade wine.. and other various local products that I like to snag.
