re: What Is The Worst Experience You've Ever Had At A Restaurant?

In Panama City Beach. Went to a place called Shuck-Ems. We wanted seafood, and were told they were good.
Ordered baked oysters. Come out on a plastic tray with the cheese and butter melted, but the oysters cold in the middle. Then the oysters were small and not connected to the shell. Also there was no foot.
I had seen this before, hell i worked at a place guilty of it. They reuse the shells, cleaning them and using them as plates, and put packaged raw oysters in the shell.
Just tasted horrible. The fish was bad, the burger was soggy. But I didn't get how parmesan cheese was melted to a plastic tray. Unless the oysters were baked on the tray.
When using the bathroom, saw about 12 microwaves, with oysters going in and coming out.
Just a horrible experience.

Kalaheo Steak and Ribs. Got some shish kabobs for an appetizer. Grabbed the skewer and it burned the hell out of my finger. Buddy of mine at work told me the same thing happened to him there
sounds like your fault not the restaurants

Mine was also at Logan's. Only time in my life I've left a $0 tip. Group of about 10 in a mostly empty restaurant on a Tuesday night.
We never received a single refill of any drink in two hours, waitress skipped over one guy completely and never even took his order. We got our food in a reasonable amount of time thanks to kitchen bus people, but waited a good hour after we finished to even get the check. Our plates were never picked up. We found the waitress sitting at a table talking to a friend in the same room as our table, so one guy went and got our checks from the hostess. Terrible, terrible experience. Manager didn't even offer discounts, refunds or free anything.

I will agree that is an instance where a tip is not deserved.

What is wrong with you. After 15 to 20 minutes in both of these situations I would have been hunting for the server and or the manager. I would walk out before waiting for a damn check.

Guy in our group did. But it changed nothing. Basically they said they'd find the waitress. I'm not dick enough to walk out without trying to pay.

Ruby Tuesdays in br off college has to be the worst place (service wise) i have ever been. I have been twice (a couple of years apart) and both times I had absolute crap service.

I got served wilted lettuce at Ruby Tuesday on College in BR and also at Fellini's in Nola.

No bad restaurant experience while there but did spend a few days in the hospital after eating Thai food in Knoxville.

A recent visit to VooDoo BBQ comes to mind.
Five of us walk in and were told it would be a 30 minute wait. No big deal. After 30 minutes they try to sit us at a 4 person booth, with two or three tables large enough for 5 people open nearby. After we attempted to make the booth work I asked our waitress if she could move us to a table that would actually fit 5 people. After we were all finally situated the waitress took our drink order then never came back. Not even with the drinks. I stopped another waitress I saw nearby and she said she would check on it. Still nothing. The drinks finally came after sitting there for 30 or something minutes. The story continues much or less the same way for the remainder of the night. They took our order, completely forgot about us. Another 45 minutes pass, still no food (they were not even closed to being slammed that night - about 25% of the tables were empty). The worst part of the manager was out on the floor walking around this whole time. I called him over and talked to him about it. He said he would take care of it. That didn't help. We still were waiting and waiting. When our food came out they had the orders screwed up. I told the manager AGAIN how long we had waited and they messed up the orders. He offered to take them back and have them cook us new entrées. I was starving at this point and afraid they would forget again so I said no thanks. After it was all said and done it took about 2-1/2 hours, alerted the staff 3-4 times, and the restaurant did nothing to resolve the issue. Had to pay the bill, didn't leave a tip, and haven't been back since.

i'm usually pretty chill when i go out to eat, unless it's just something crazy going on, as long as i have a drink i'm in no hurry. the other night me and a out of town friend went to this pizza place after about a hour i was getting hungry so i kindly asked if everything was ok, and she said they were just backed up, another 30 she comes back and says they forgot to make our pizzas and they are just going in. i still wasn't pissed b/c we were just drinking beer anyways, but she offered to pay for something, well when we tabbedout all she took of was 1 beer between the 2 of us. i just kinda though that was cheap. don't even offer to comp if it's just gonna be 1 beer , that's fricking stupid.

went there last spring break. as soon as we walked in, i tried convincing everyone we made a mistake, but they insisted.
buddy's gf got those baked oysters and i laughed my arse off when i saw them. exactly how you described. i had ordered shrimp or some shite. took one bite, pushed my plate aside, and waited for everyone else to finish eating.

Cotton in monroe. Waiter was overly attentive, he would grab our dishes and start to take them away before we had finished. We stopped him multiple times from taking a plate. He came by once to ask if we were done with a playe(still had one oyster left on it), told him no. Fiancée picks up the oyster and within 30secs the guy is back at the table and takes the plate away. The food was also terrible, could tell that nothing we ordered was made on order.
Guy Harvey's in Panama City beach. Waiter took our order for the appt then never came back to the table. We eventually flagged him down and got out there as fast as we could.

I'm confused about your story. Most in here are horror stories, and you're just talking about someone forgetting something and then you abruptly stop your story. Did you stay and eat? Did you leave because he forgot your app? MOAR DETAILS.

Not an experience of mine, but rather one I made for someone. I worked at Ruth's Chris in BR last summer as a food runner. I was serving a filet to someone at a large corner table. Tried scooting around to get to the guy in the corner so I'm looking at the people I'm passing behind and not my hand holding the plate. I hit the wall with my plate hand and the steak flew off onto the floor and the plate and the 400 degree butter fell on one of the guy's heads. He just kinda winced and bowed his head down close to the table. I was speechless. Luckily the server was there to swoop in and offer assistance but I just turned to stone. One of the most gut wrenching feelings I've ever had. Luckily the GM was cool with it. Kept trying to calm me down and tell me it happens. I was like no bro this doesn't happen! I hope the guy is ok wherever he is

What do you expect from a place called Logan's?
With that being said, my worst experience is at a place called Mordecai's. Ordered wings, with their hot buffalo flavor.
Wings came out, had no sauce on them, or at least I think it didn't. Bland wings with ZERO flavor or heat at all. I asked to send them back to the kitchen to put the sauce they forgot on them, waitress said that is how they are.
I was like WTF, how are these "world famous" wings?

Went to Andrea's in Metairie on Christmas Eve with a group of about 15 family members. Made reservations well in advance as it's always packed. This time was no exception. It's about 45 minutes after our reservation time before we're finally seated at our table. No big deal since they have a really nice bar area. So we all sit there for about 20 minutes with just the water at the table and our drinks from the bar before the waiter takes everyone's drink and food orders. Another 30 minutes or so pass with no word, so we manage to get a hold of a waitress (who was insanely busy) and she said she would look into it. Everyone gets another round at the bar, so we're at least properly lubricated the whole time. Finally, after about another 30 minutes, some manager comes up to us and gives us a heads up that our waiter apparently said "frick this" and unceremoniously quit (as in only telling one of his bus-boy friends there) after taking our order. Said he'd get someone to help us as soon as possible, but we knew that everyone working was packed and it's not like we were the quitter's only table. We opted to leave. They didn't offer to pick up any portion of our tab or anything.
