Some of my worst dining experiences ever were the stops we would make at the golden corrals in florida on boy scout trips
fwiw, fire mountain and ryans are better. I've never been to Luby's though but everyone says they like it
Fire Mountain was great if you were the first ones in at opening time and like diabtes and high cholesteral to go with less than mediocre food

Did a GC once in a town known as BFE Utah where it was pretty much the only place and that was twenty years ago.

I'm terrified I drop coffee or hot gumbo on someone on day. I deliver it far away from them and then let them slide it to themselves... they probably think I am weird, but I am not chancing it.

I once had a waitress hold a tray with one hand over my infant daughter's head, as she poured hot coffee into a mug on the tray. I was like, WTF--are you dense?!? My eyes got huge, but I was afraid to say anything until she finished because I didn't want to distract her and have her drop it.

No really good horror stories come to mind but I had a really interesting and unusual experience at a Waffle House.
It involved a midget waitress. Which I guess shouldn't be weird but for me it was weird being waited on by a midget.
In addition to being a midget we discovered she had Tourette's syndrome. The kind where their face contorts and they shout obscenities. She was very nice except for when she was cursing us out.
Made for a very interesting dining experience.

Kalaheo Steak and Ribs. Got some shish kabobs for an appetizer. Grabbed the skewer and it burned the hell out of my finger. Buddy of mine at work told me the same thing happened to him there. I was like wow, these guys are gonna get sued for this shite one day. Got my meal for free and a free appetizer coupon for next time if I go. Food was good though.

I have 3 witnesses that were with me.

Flagler Fish Company, Flagler Beach Florida. Back in the spring I went with my parents on a quick spring break trip to Florida. My dad is disabled and in a wheelchair. Anyway that week it was still cool in Florida, definitely to cool to get on the beach. But we were seated outside the restaurant, which is itself a dive. The sun went down and my dad started freezing. Anyway, it was an hour before our orders were took, and 2 hours and 15 minutes after we set down before we said we had enough and left. The owner confronted us in the parking lot for leaving a table during rush, while I was loading my dad. We hadn't even got food yet.
