What do you collect?

I want to start collecting something as a hobby. My desire is to collect something with value. It doesnt necessarily have to be an "investment" but I would like my collection to be worth something at the end of the day. I was thinking of autographs or silver bars/coins. Like I said, im not trying to get rich or "go long", just looking to get into a hobby that is worth something. In a perfect world, opportunities would exist to buy cheaper items and expensive items for said hobby. Any thoughts?

I collected baseball cards in the 50s and 60s. Have them stored and will give them to my grandson.
My wife collects these:
It's called Swanx. She has over 100 pair for no apparent reason.

Cigars, most of which are aged and/or discontinued, and most of my collection are Cubans.

all that is not worthy of collecting. if it can burn in a fire its not worth collecting.
i collect gold that i pull from streams. it will spend anywhere in the world and you can bring it with you with no issues. its much safer than money or anything else.
im a gold prospector and will soon be a gold miner. as a day job. plenty of money to be made. im looking at 400 a day every day i mine

To each his own.
I've sold many boxes that I've aged for 3-5 years for more than double what I paid. It's just one of the hobbies that I have, not one that I have strictly for additional cash flow.
I do like to smoke them as well.

These silver coins are what I collect:
Morgan dollars, Franklin Half dollars, Washington quarters, Proof sets.
My dad collected Mercury dimes and proof sets. Brother was into Buffalo nickels. I was big on Washington quarters and have since expanded a bit.
For a newbie, I would advise to pick one of the above, and Lincoln cents pre-1959 ("Wheaties").
I also collect old banks, Shearwater Pottery (Walter Anderson figurines), and prints by Theora Hamblett and Wyatt Waters.

I also have a lot of ammo and about 10 guns. I have a small collection of vintage toys also.
Oh frick, I have about 25 swords, axes and other medieval weapons. These are for when I finish my upstairs movie theater.

I would add to matthew, and say Silver Eagles. I am going back through and getting two of each year for my kids one day.

Coins: pennies, nickels, dimes, halfs, dollars.
A little currency, like silver certificates.
Old bottles, mostly pre 1900s
Those glass insulators that used to go on the powerlines.
