Had the regular Roast Beef and a side of chili.

I have to say, that while it was a good poboy, I'm not sure why this place gets all the hype. Maybe their fried seafood sandwiches are better.

The beef was over cooked to the point of being mushy. I've had more flavorful gravy (Kid Creole, for example) and the sandwich was barely 6 inches long.

The chili was very strange. It tasted like leftover red beans with tomatoes and chili powder added. The ground meat was very grisle-y.

Yeah I think their po boys are a bit overrated. I am not a roast beef guy though. I prefer shrimp from a number of different shops.

Also, I don't frick with chili.

Quite familiar with debris, Neauxla, but this was mushy.

I go for the surf and turf.

I've also gotten a hot sausage and pepper jack po boy with debris on it, which was fantastic.

Yep. Much better than their roast beef, which I agree isn't all that.

My problem with Parkway is the RB. It's terrible. I judge po boy shops first off RB then I go for the shrimp. I would never take a pic of a RB from parkway. The shrimp I would along with a number of the other offerings. I don't get the hype either.

My go-to lately (maybe once every month or two) has been to get the shrimp and ask for gravy on the side...it's cured many a hangover...

Their roast beef doesn't do it for me (not enough flavor), but no one fries shrimp like they do. They also have good gumbo, and the pastrami and corned beef poboys are top notch.

Parkway is the Pho Tau Bay of the local po boy market. At one time they were considered the best because there weren't a lot of other options. Now that there are a lot more options, they are still good, but there's better out there.

I have no qualms with their RB. Its not my favorite but I'm not turning ti down. Had surf/turf there Sunday and stole some debris cheese fries from my sister. No complaints.

Parkway isn't even in my top 5 in the city for RB, though i do hear their shrimp is really good.
