That makes no sense, considering Vasquez has flaws

Vasquez is proven to be a quality player in the NBA. Neither of the two you want to replace have come close to doing that. Rivers is coming off of a downright atrocious year and Burke is an undersized PG who is considered slow laterally.

Dan Dickau had a good season too.

Vasquez scored more points than Dickau's best year with 1.73 times as many assists, shooting at a higher percentage, and nearly twice as many rebounds

I'm glad I got you to compare Vasquez to Dickau.

Think about what you are doing now.

You are comparing your pick for "PG of the future's" best season to Dan fricking Dickau's best season – who by the way was 2 years younger than Vasquez is now when he had his best season.

And it is nominally better at best when in comparison and the team's they led had the same results.

He is a solid back-up energy guy that we could possibly trade with starter value.

The Heat just won a title with MARIO frickING CHALMERS at PG. PGs do not win titles in this league. Big men and the Lebron, Kobe, Jordans of the world typically do. Vasquez is a more than capable, slightly above league average PG and definitely worth keeping, not throwing away for the illusion of hope that is this year's draft.

I've never actually seen a decent trade proposal for Vasquez. For this draft, it would have to be at least a top 20 pick and even then I'm not sure it's worth it. He doesn't make that much money and he is a good guard that might even be able to play SG (He has the size and his shooting is getting better). I don't think Vasquez would make a huge stink about going back to the bench or playing SG or doing whatever else you ask him to. So unless someone comes with a great offer. I wouldn't just get rid of him..

This argument is so ridiculously stupid. One of the best players of all time is on that team and takes the ball up more than Chalmers.

Well, frick it then. Let's trade Vasquez for anything we can get and be grateful we shed our roster of that piece of shite.

I would absolutely like to keep Vasquez as a rotation player. Will be just bad enough to not get $, but he has an amazing motor, enthusiastic spirit, and generally just seems happy to be here.

Trade Vazquez for what would almost be another bench/role type player?

What exactly do you think he commands?

I think this is a case where we value him higher than other teams because we need him so badly right now. Even if we get burke, I'd like to wait closer to the trade deadline before just shipping him off. Trading him for a pick between 15-25 in a piss poor draft like this one screams tank part 3 to me.

I used to want to drop him and sign CJ Watson as a PG/SG rotation 3 point shooter. However, Vasquez is a unique player. He is homegrown, we were the first team to really accept him. He can be our Udonis Haslem.

You don't want to be in the playoffs with a guy who you just signed, a guy who's more than likely indifferent about anything except for the money. I also think we need a little international flavor.

He fought last season. When the playoffs come, you know he's going to be excited for the franchise.

He's someone that really busts his arse too, which is refreshing considering gordon's attitude. (I don't dislike gordon, I just think the distinction is important.)

just about the biggest defensive liability at starting pg in the nba(nash & kid included!)
no more than basic ball handling skills
can't get to the rim much
misses open 3pt shooters waaay too much for a starting pg

What team? this question does not make any sense until we now how the team will look next season. We have already said many times here that if we can win with Vasquez or not depends on who else is in the team when that happens.

His stats aren't amazing, but considering how many games were missed by key players and how consistent he was for this team some people make it seem like he's garbage. There are plenty of good pg's in this league, but as of right now he's the only one we have. We should hold on to him until he's totally expendable.

This was his third year in the league. Every year he has gained playing time while increasing his fg%, 3pt%, rebounds per 48 and assists per 48. Good signs
