re: Why exactly do so many fans hate Lebron James?

Freaking this.
The drugs, the partying, the random women. All he does is think about himself.
LeBron will get a triple-double and then commit a double felony.
I'm tired of the organizations and Stern sticking up for him and covering his dirty tracks.

Apparently Bron can't either. My mom could tell me this is a good idea...I'd still make the decision on my own.

He was a 25 year old basketball player who was being told by a guy with many years of marketing experience that this was a good idea.
Should he also ignore the advice of his accountant when he files his taxes?

NBA players being full of themselves makes the league marketable?
I'm not speaking for the league as a whole per se, but typically the most marketable players are completely full of themselves. See: MJ, Kobe, Charles Barkley, Shaq (And I fricking love Shaq), LeBron, etc...
KD may be one of the only exception in the modern era that is incredibly humble yet gets paid 10's of millions a year in endorsements.
There are a few other exceptions: See Yao Ming and Jeremy Lin

huh wasn't it his boy carter who had been a PR nightmare before the one who advised this. His PR team used to be just HS buddies who didn't even finish college

Bron knows backlash...he had experienced it before. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that this would cause backlash too.
Taxes argument is funny. Obviously he knows nothing about taxes. Leave it to a professional for that. He wouldn't know any better. This was a common sense decision.
So agree to disagree. This is one of the last reasons I'm annoyed with him anyway.

KD isn't really full of himself, but he's a bitch. I think Tim Duncan is the most likable star player right now

Because he's playing the Heat...most people hate Duncan and the Spurs (not sure why - I've always liked them)...just not in this series.

I don't think anyone should hold anything against specific players for being a whiner. Every single player in the NBA whines about calls/no calls.

He's been pretty good (relatively speaking) these finals in terms of whining/flopping, but he is one of the all time greats when it comes to those two on-court activities throughout his career.
I respect his game and believe he is a top 5 PF of all time, but to say he's always been a guy who "just goes out there and plays" is just revisionist history.

As I've said before on here, I hated the Spurs because they knocked the Hornets out the one year that had a legit shot at a title. Sure they flop some but there are plenty of teams worse in today's league. They are built the way we want the Pelicans to build and we got our coach and GM from their organization.
I've never had a reason to dislike them other than that, and I've always thought Duncan handled is fame better than any other all star.

Personally, IDGAF how the Pelicans are assembled as long as we win.

I believe it is because his fans keep comparing him to Michael Jordan which is a difficult burden to bear. LeBron is not judged on the "NBA Superstar scale" he is judged on the "Jordan scale". When people realize he is an all time great but not the greatest of all time they will be able to sit back and truly appreciate LeBron's unique talents on their own merits.

It's sports, so it's fun to love/hate guys, but to act like there's "logic" behind most of these arguments ia absurd. Jordan is a well-documented alcoholic and a-hole...LeBron, a generally nice guy.
As for the flopping - I wish he played every play like G6 H2 where he d'd up TonyP...and he does for the most part. He's the best defensive player in the league, yet people will bitch about his whining. Yes he whines, but he also plays amazing D- not a reason to hate a guy.
Most people struggle with sound logic since sports are polarizing and we don't actually have a vested stake forcing us to be objective. It's all fun n games. Unlike your mortgage, kids, job, etc.
k, off my high-horse.
