I disagree with bunting in that situation. You've got three outs to manufacture 1-2 runs and your .340 hitter is up. Rhymes has little experience bunting in game situations this season and a 2-0 count.

down 1 theres only one play-you bunt the ball period

you would never make it as a coach

Rhymes has zero sac bunts this season and is the best contact hitter on the team. You will never make it as a troll.

Raph has hit into an insane number of dp's, absolutely have to bunt the runner over in that situation!!! I don't understand the decision now, and never will. Damnit!!

The pitch he hit should have been taken. You make the pitcher throw a strike when you are behind, especially with a runner on first, down by one and nobody out.

I would have preferred to see a take in that situation to get to 3-0 or if it was a strike put the sac back on in a 2-1 count. You can't keep Katz idle at first and swing away.

In that 2-0 count it was a low inside pitch so it should have been a take regardless because it was a pitcher's pitch in a hitter's count.

I don't give a flying fawk if hes never had a bunt in his lifetime. You bunt the ball period and every coach worth a fawk would bunt.

I'm asking him to do something he is good at (put the ball in the play on the ground on a hitter's count) while you are asking him to do something that is not easy when you never do it.

For someone who trolled me about not being a coach, your posts are...interesting.

I let Raph swing away there. He's a great hitter, a 2-0 pitch, he can help win you a game on that half the time

Why not pinch run with Katz on base. Might make it to second safely or at least get the defense to make a mistake on the attempted double play with a little more speed on the basepaths.

he should have taken another pitch. That was the right move.

Not bunting, or swinging away

And here's the problem. At this level everybody should be able to bunt. The bunt is absolutely the right call there and if the player can't get it done that's on the coach for not making damn sure every player practices bunting and can get it down.
