Not that I am pro Kobe on this board, but truehoop posted this today about Kobe and the 4th quarter.. written by a Sloan Sports Conference particapnt
Good stuff.

Also to the OP, the most overrated player in the NBA is probably Blake Griffen based on his status as an All-Star starter, second team All-NBA player (last year) and national profile.
I don't believe he is a top four forward in the league.

yeah I saw it, but with his profile as high as it is, I don't think he can get to that.
He doesn't block shots, hit free throws, have a consistent jumper(Trade Value column alert) yet he is a face of the NBA.
Romo might be the QB for the Cowboys but his national profile isn't what Blake's is.
Also Jermaine O'Neal was probably the second best player on Wades scrub teams.

Joe Johnson
I don't think Johnson belongs in the over rated category. Over paid? Hell yeah. But I doubt anyone who seriously watches bball thinks Johnson is a great player.
My vote would be Griffin.

I don't think Iguodala is overrated.

In 2010, Jermaine played 28 minutes per game and averaged 13 and 7.
I could gladly concede O'Neal as the 2nd best player, but I don't think it changes my stance that 47 wins and losing to Boston by no means shows how Wade is overrated.

how Wade is overrated.
I don't think the Wade of 2010 is overrated and I don't think a healthy Wade of 2013 is overrated.
As far as two-way players, I think Wade is a top 5(or near) player in the NBA.
The only guys who play both sides of the court very well that I would put ahead of him are LeBron,Durant,Paul and Marc Gasol(which might lead some people to think I overrate Marc Gasol-but I think he's top 5 player in the NBA).

I'd disagree on Gasol, but I agree on everything else, and that's enough for me to call it a day and head home from work.

Marc Gasol
He couldn't even make first team all defense.

Yeah all he's done is average 20/10/4 in his first 230 games

Except Deandre Jordan already makes $10m a year
Marc Gasol is a good one. Brook Lopez is another one

It was much closer competition in terms of the 2 conferences a few year's ago. There was a 1 or 2 year span around that time(not sure if it was that specific year) that the EC had a better record head to head vs the WC.
Pretty sure that hasn't happened since the mid/early 90s.

when Roy freaking Hibbert can post you up like this:
then I don't think you really are first team all defense at the moment , also it is widely known that All Defense selection is a joke.
Hence Mike James getting two votes(one of them being a first team vote), Kobe Bryant getting votes.Deng,Iggy and Larry Sanders being left off the teams, and Avery Bradley who only played 60% making second team while not playing particularly outstanding defense
quote:
Marc Gasol is a good one
Team runs the offense through him, best passing big out there. His offensive rebounding numbers seem low, but that's because 1) he's in the high post 2) he's coached to not crash boards and get back on D 3) he's playing with a very good rebounder in Z-Bo
His response to not being first team all defense? just 6 blocks last night (with several clutch baskets).
Shoots 80-85% from the line. Can play both low and high post.
As of right now, posting a 22 PER and fourth in the NBA in Estimated Wins Added behind Durant, James and Curry.
I'd say he is underrated by most.

i dont understand people saying KD and melo at all...if i had to pick one person to take the last shot it would probably be out of these 2

Crymello for sure.
It does no good to score 30+ a game when your matchup scores just as much or more.
he forgets that there are actually times when he doesn't have the ball and he has to stop other people from shooting.

Pretty sure that hasn't happened since the mid/early 90s
But either way, I know it was close and that is why doing the East vs West based on today's standards is irrelevant when discussing stuff from that timeframe.
