Hunting in Clinton and I was sitting looking at a bend in the road in a tree stand. It crossed the road where 2 of us could see it. Freaked us both out. They exist here.

Killed this a few years back on Easter Sunday. Was driving around our low fences place, saw it, knew it wasn't a white tail so I shot it from the truck. Sent my sister back to the house to get my dad and the tractor and my dad said she walked in and said I "had shot a goat or something" not sure if it roamed that far south or escaped a high fence.

I walked up on a completely skinned deer carcass on the other side of the levee once. Yes I poked it with a stick

Not really strange but cool:
Large cougar along the South Platte River in CO.
And I currently see tons of bobcat in Northern CA.

Where i used to turkey hunt there was a pea-hen (female peacock) that lived with the turkeys. I thought about taking her out but never did. If she were to somehow be bred with an Eastern turkey, that would be interesting. Can you imagine the fan on that bird??

I lived near McManus Crossroads (19/10) 25 years ago and there was a big dark one in the woods just north of the intersection. Used to hear it every now and then...chilling.

My mom claims she saw one on the way to her stand and we hear a chilling cat like roar around the camp sometimes.

Mountain lion causes a stir in Bossier City neighborhood
We've definitely got them on this end of the state and honestly I'm pretty sure we always have.
As for strangest animal I ever saw in the wild, probably Ring Tailed Cat and chachalaca close to Del Rio Tx.
