Is Diamond still around?
Posted on 11/30/18 at 4:05 pm to Korin
Yes very much so, not certain if they are still making gaming GPUs though.
For some reason I want to say yes but think i'm wrong. It just seems like I have come across some cheap Diamond GPUs (AMD) within the last 5yrs.
I do have 2 Diamond GPUs in my junk closet. Someone gave them to me for giving them a GTX 560 Ti a few years ago.
Edt: Doing some quick google searches and think my feeling about within the last 5yrs is correct. I remember some 7800 cards from Diamond during the 1st BTC mining craze. Think that is the last time, maybe some R290/290X cards but not certain.

At least Creative Labs is still around (and with the same logo). They stopped making GPUs though.

Ryzen 3 specs leaked, top model 16 cores 32 threads 5.1GHz boost for $499.

AMD is also rumored to be preparing two seriously-impressive enthusiast-class Ryzen 9 CPUs, which will apparently feature two full 8-core Zen 2 dies, which gives them 16 cores and 32 threads.
The Ryzen 9 3800X comes with 16 cores, 32 threads, a 3.9GHz base and 4.7GHz boost clock, 125W TDP and a $449 (around £350, AU$600) price tag. It’s rumored to be unveiled at CES.
Finally, there's the Ryzen 9 3850X, which is a 16-core, 32-thread CPU with a base clock of 4.3GHz base clock, 5.1GHz boost, 135W TDP and a price of $499 (around £400, AU$700). This is rumored to release in May.

Amazing for homelabers like me, but I doubt it'll beat out the 9900k in gaming

Yeah Intel is more fricked than we thought which was already very.
I now plan on grabbing the 3700X 12/24 5GHz chip for $329 to replace the 8700K.
Hang on I have to say that one more time, a 12 core 24 thread 5GHz CPU with a 105 TDP for 329 dollars.
Damn 2019 you crazy
Full lineup

Doubt it beats it in gaming, but that many cores/threads for that price is pretty impressive.
I am a little frustrated Intel is pricing their i7-9800x at $600.

Got my $2.50 Steam Link. I see why they unloaded their inventory in favor of a software solution. When you get it going, it works fine, but has too many quirks. Can confirm the app on my Samsung TV works just as well, if not better. But at least I can hook this up to one of my dumber TVs.

Valve should just get out of the dev business, the abandoned their money maker in HL.

I got into the Anthem Closed Alpha, about to check it out. Have semi high hopes for this game. First tests are today and tomorrow 9-12 and 2-5.
ETA: Nevermind, looks like they canceled the first morning session due to technical issues

It really pisses me off that you can't turn it on without unplugging it unless you have a controller dedicated to it

So Anthem seems pretty fun.
It's just Titanfall+Destiny. You're literally a pilot in a mech suit and have rocket jump/hover but can fly for quite awhile too and a special ability called your ultimate.
Not sure how it will do but it runs well and looks great like any Frostbite game.
