So I'm about to start getting parts for my new NES HTPC. Should I go with my 3570 I already have and get this crappy board , or should I get a 4770s (~$100 and it's lower power) with this better board
I already have 16gb of laptop ram, low profile cooler, and 256gb msata SSD, so I just need the CPU, board and the external power supply

Working 7days of 12-14hrs always makes me dream differently.
Not really vivid dreams but dreams of extreme regret. Always dream of a long term HS girlfriend, friends I've forgotten and just things I fckked up. I'm transported to a world I know but don't belong. No one wants me there. Shtt just makes me really sad.

1tb SSDs are pretty cheap now. I think they're like $125

I'm building a PC for my nephew. I can put it together but when it comes to knowing the difference between parts i'm lost. Trying to stick with mostly all white parts for aesthetics.

1700x is first gen 8c/16t ryzen on 14 nm process.
2600 is 2nd gen 6c/12t ryzen on 12 nm process.
I would go with the 2600 because of the better ram compatibility plus newer manufacturing process.
If your nephew still needs the 2 extra cores, the 1700x isn't a bad buy.
If your nephew is purely gaming, the 8600k isn't a bad buy either.

Kinda impulse bought an older razer blade 2014 for $200.
Not a bad little machine so far. Trackpad and keyboard are realing freaking awesome. Having the 4720hq and 870m are a nice plus too.
Battery is shot, so I gotta spend ~$70 on a new one.
