I wouldn't expect much from him next season, but down the line after he adjusts to college basketball over here and gets some more strength in him along with being comfortable being as tall as he is, could be really good.

If you really want to get fired up, watch this clip of Ben Simmons(Aussie basketball phenom) and then realize that David Patrick is his Godfather.

This is what I think too. He could definitely be a redshirt candidate if we feel comfortable down low without him. That means, if Martin and Mickey play down low and we have 2 deep at both 4 and 5. If that's the way coach sees both of those players, then I think Malone gets the year to adjust. I've watched a half of one of his games now and I think he has a lot of upside, but still has a lot to learn.

i'm not sure how i feel about this kid. His measurables look good, but so do Del Piero's for that matter

Youre joking right? Kid has form, a bit of coordination and is in great shape. He can shoot the mid range jumper as well..off the dribble...how can you not be sure about a 7' hitting 18-20 ft jump shots...f'n idiots on here

ETA: This kid has some moves too...let me just say this...if he we're on the team...right now...he would be the second best big man on the team.

Simmons is a beast, but he's not local and he'll be recruited by nearly every high major. I'm going to wait a bit before getting too fired up.

Just from the 2nd video, which is all i have to go off of, and assuming you do to, not that impressed.
yes he can hit a mid range jump shot. He looks skinny and not very aggressive, looks like he doesn't work at all to get the ball in the post and i didn't see any post moves other than turning around and shooting over someone shorter than him. He also walked twice in the post, and half the highlights were him getting the ball handed to him under the goal and dunking.
he blocked one shot in the highlight.
not really sure where this athleticism people are talking about is.

He can be a decent player in college, but has a good bit a work to do.

So, you can tell from the limited amount of video that he won't be that good, but anyone who says he will be very good doesn't have enough video to go off of?

Dude, the guy barely played. 1 year of HS basketball, 12 minutes total for LSU before this season. Come on... of course Del Piero wasnt going to be good. But he far exceeded what even he thought he was capable of.
