Dazed and Confused is number 1 for sure.

American Pie, Fast Tmes at Ridgemont High, Breakfast Club, and Superbad are some of my other favorites.

ETA: Election is really good. Also FNL, but I think of that as a sports movie moreso than a high school movie. With the tv show, I would go the other way.

Haven't seen Perks of Being a Wallflower yet but that could be a good one.

This list is pretty much going on YOUR fav high school movies and you discredit what you dont think is worthy of the best. You should tally up other peoples opinions, then rank em, otherwise name this shite YOUR fav high school movies.

Back to the Future? I wouldn't consider it that much of a high school movie. The others I can agree on although Sixteen Candles sucked arse. And don't give me that bullshite "you don't what a good movie is"

American Pie is on that list. Superbad should now be on that list as well.

This.

Don't ask for other peoples' opinions if you don't want other peoples' opinions.

Breakfast Club and Dazed and Confused have to be the top two(though, it's really early and this is just off the top of my head, so I'm probably forgetting other favorites)

You can basically tell the OP was near high school in the 80's, since he's rejected every movie of this generation from his elite list

I personally didn't care for Dazed & Confused, but maybe it's because I've never smoked weed.

Even though it was 30 somethings playing teenagers.

The oldest "teenager" in the movie was Alan Ruck (who played Cameron), and he was 29. Matthew Broderick was 23, Jennifer Grey was 25, and Mia Sara was only 18.
