frick the canadiens...worst fans in the entire world.
I'm a blackhawks fan. Between Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp, Marian Hossa, and Jonathan Toews, what's not to love? Hossa is one of the most exciting players in the nhl and Kane is having what can only be described as a resurgence. Plus, we're off to a 4-0 start for the first time since 1972

I'm with Baloo - and I'm a Rangers fan. If I'm you I root for the Blues. Fun to watch. If you root for the Rangers you'll be subject to our fan base which makes LSU fans look like eternal optimists that live in a unicorn and rosegarden world.
You can make an argument - I think for a new hockey fan in the south for any of these 4 teams:
- Blues - extremely strong team and fun to watch.
- Chicago - see above, but they've already won and may be on the downtrend.
- Nashville - awesome goaltending (though Pekka has been slipping lately) and really good passing / team play. Nasvhille is easily my second favorite team. They can do all of the things that the rangers can't seem to do. Like pass. And shoot. And set up a goddamn 5-3 power play and get 1 fricking shot off. Sorry - had to vent.
- If you go canadian I'd say Edmonton just because they've had like 1000000 first round picks the last 10 years that has to pay off at some point.

Preds...
Nashville has really embraced the franchise, despite times when it looked like they would be moved to Canada. Great place to watch a game (right next to bars on Broadway), great atmosphere and a playoff team nearly every year. The rivalries with the Wings and Blackhawks have pushed Nashville to a new level in terms of fan support and local interest.
Plus, we throw catfish on the ice. Though the Wings are the Preds main rivalry, Nashville has modeled its franchise as a "Southern" version of the Red Wings. What's not to like about that?

Also consider this "Baloo" character carefully.
I wouldn't trust him.

Really good young player in Jamie Benn
At least they finally signed him.

An all-time great finishing up his career in Jaromir Jagr
Publicity stunt signing (I thought they were trying to build a younger team?) which is working out very well.

Pretty damn good goalkeeper in Kari Lehtonen who is good enough to keep them in most games, even against the leagues best teams
That's VERY good goalkeeper. Otherwise the Stars would be winless (you can call them the _allas Stars if you want, it fits well).

So they'll probably be a fun team to watch all season even when they lose because they should be in a lot of close games (like last nights OT loss to Chicago).
Unless you're a fan (which I have been since they moved here; my first date with my SO was a Stars game) then it gets frustrating.

You should thank the _allas Stars _efense for that.

They have a GM who has a brain. This was proven beyond any doubt when they traded for Mike Fisher (a/k/a Mr. Carrie Underwood).

you clearly are young and dumb and sound like a bandwagoner extraordinaire.
and I guess you have never seen bears fans, Yankees fans, Mets fans or Eagles fans right? All fanbases have their bad fans.
