Any Punishment for Cam Newton?

I checked the team's news page on NFL.com, and there isn't anything about him getting fined or suspended for getting in the ref's face and bumping him with his chest.
I also have to ask, why was he not ejected from the game??

Have you not seen his smile? How can you eject something like that?

Like I said before, if you look at the clip objectively it looks like he got up off the ground to get in the face of the defender and wasn't expecting/didn't see the ref moving in when he did so he popped up in the refs face accidentally.

Have you seen the clip?
NFL.com Game Highlights
The game day highlights show more of the play - he's clearly looking right at the ref as he gets off the ground and never takes his eyes off of him. He never looks at the Raiders player. His intent was to get in the face of the ref the entire time - not to mention the play earlier in the game when he kicked the raider defender in the head.

Better video from the game. I've seen other players get suspended, ejected, and/or fined for less than this.

If I was a panther's fan, I'd be a slightly concerned with the maturity of my QB.
Whether or not he was aiming for the ref, player, whatever; that move right there shows some childish frustration. (It appears to me that he never even looks at raider player but thats besides the point). The shot afterwards of him standing alone on the field looking like hes about to cry doesn't make it any better.
Add to this that he's had some bizarre post game conferences to say the least, and I would seriously be worried.
The guy has all the talent in the world but it all goes to waste if you don't have a solid head on top of those shoulders.

The kick to the Raiders head was more than what we did to lose our head coach for a year

The league obviously wants this to go away. They probably had a talk with him, but at this point it looks like they do not want a QB (The face of a franchise) looking like a thug.
If this would have been Suh it would be on constant replay on ESPN and the NFL network.

He's one bad game away from being on suicide watch.

Although he has physical attributes, he's a fricking idiot.

You know those clowns were fricking dancing on top of him right? If he gets punished for something like that then you're basically proving your bias because it's the exact same deal as the Bounty stuff in that we should never have been penalized.

I agree, if he doesn't receive a fine I'm cool with it and I can't stand the guy.

would love to hear the logic behind this

Cam made contact with an official during an argument. That is an automatic ejection (and most likely a suspension) in nearly any other professional sport. This has nothing to do with anything for which the Saints have been punished.

The NFL would prefer to turn a blind eye on a young Black QB that meets their desire to promote and appear diverse and tolerant.
