Pat Shurmur is going to do a great job at his second gig.

How about Rick Venturi? If I remember right, he had three different stints as an interim head coach and won exactly one game at each stop.
And I'm not talking a Hal Hunter 1-0 record. More like 1-8, 1-10 type records.

Without a doubt, especially when you consider how many years he was a HC.

Surprised no one has said Jim Haslett. Aaron Brooks may have been a terrible QB but Haslett wasn't a great coach either.

Ditka when he coached for the Saints.
Not sure about his salary, but he obviously had a great rep in Chicago. Dude put together some shitty Saints teams.

Not even close. frickin hell in his division you had Ray Handley. Then there was Kotite. Lou Holtz spent some time in the league.
A lot of guys before I would say Spurrier

Ditka is a good answer. Lots of fanfare and money.
Spurrier was worse though.

Belichick made the right decision. Smith did not.

It is the complete opposite- the coach that replaced Jim Mora is the worst Head Coach ever!
Head Coach
College- Northwestern (Big 10) 1-31-1 Wyoming
NFL Colts 1-10 NY
NFL Saints 1-7 NY
52 games only 3 wins.

You're surprised that the guy who helped the Saints win their first playoff game ever hasnt been named the 'worst NFL coach ever?' Really?
