Did anybody notice how he said that he had never done an extraction mission before and later in the movie tells the group that he's never lost a person before...like he's done it a few times in the past...doesn't make any sense.

If anything he MAY have said that he had never done one this way.

This. He has extracted people before, just never using a fake movie as a cover.

Just got out of the movie, IMO it was a reference about his wife and son

Even Trey Parker and Matt Stone gave Affleck props for this movie on the latest South Park.

Want to see this just to see how historically inaccurate it is.
How are the Iranians portrayed?

He said "I've never lost anyone before" to the six he was trying to get out. Attempting to get their confidence. In any case it was an outstanding movie, even if I do hate Affleck's politics.

He had never done one like that, with the fake movie.
He was the CIA's top exfil guy, that's why he was in the meeting

Great movie, and Affleck is a great great director. Seriously, he is a true talent.
That said, SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!
Did anyone else think the runway scene was pretty cheesy??
I highly doubt that actually happened, and it really did seem to just be thrown in there for the morons out there that need some action, no matter how stupidly concocted it is, to make a movie worth the ticket price.
It took a great, tense, suspenseful historical piece and cheapened it just a bit at the end IMO.
Still my second favorite movie of the year so far behind TDKR, but just wish Affleck would have resisted that temptation or pressure to include a runway chase scene.
Movie didn't need it. Story was tense as hell already.
The opening scene of the embassy storming was enough to leave any moviegoer unsettled the rest of three way.

We did. I doubt it went down that way too, but maybe we are wrong?

I read an article with some quotes from the Canadian ambassador that said getting the out of the country at the airport went fairly smoothly. He was also a little upset that they downplayed his role so much. He was apparently more involved than the movie made if out to be.
