FYI...Coach Miles wears the same outfit for every game so that his players will always know what to look for on the sidelines. A little fact from a meeting with Miles.... I always thought the same thing but he does it for the players. Has worn it for about 5-6 years.

Now hate on me.....

His PA skills aside, Borne can't write poetry worth a shite. That awful poem that made it on the poster last year straight up sucked.

As a Tiger fan of many years, I suppose I was "spoiled" by the great Sid Crocker. A good friend of mine and I used to imitate his public address announcing. But he was great, had some flair, great voice and didn't add his opinion.

I have always thought Dan Borne was nowhere near as good as Sid Crocker was.

really?...maybe in your world. with a little prep it's really not that hard. and I don't listen to hawthorne and borne because I can't stand hawthorne and the only borne I listen to is named Jason. just freakn' sayn'!

What's up with the commentary? I noticed the same thing. He needs to chill with all of these "cute" lil sayings. Did it 3-4 times last night. Just cut out all the bull shite & tell us what happened on the play. It's not about you Dan!!

One of dans favorite quotes is from Shakespeare "the play is the thing."

Sid Crocker hand picked Dan for this job. He doesn't think it's remotely about him!

Really?? He say's things like that??? wow! That's really unprofessional. He should have absolutely no latitude in that area at all. I can't believe any of the powers that be will allow that to continue. I bet that would tick Les off something fierce, and me too if I were the coach trying to get kids to play up to their potential and then you get the home announcer who works for you up there talking about unforced errors. It's bad enough for the home crowd to voice their displeasure but they are entitled to a degree. Really? Is this true?

Dan Borne does a fantastic job. I don't recall his "another unforced error" commentary from last night. I agree that's not the appropriate thing to say but you can't expect everything he says to be perfect and I really worry for you if something this small gets under your skin. Personally, I loved his "3rd down and a whisper"

Dude's the head of the Louisiana Chemical Agency or whatever the Chemical Lobby here in-state refers to themselves as today.

I agree he's a great person but to call the head of the Louisiana Chemical Lobby "the exact opposite" of a politician is kinda dumb. The Chemical Lobby's one of the most active-and obviously effective-special interest groups on a state level.

That said, Dan tries too hard. More than sometimes. Decent guy, but it's a little overboard.

Also "that's the end of the first/third quarter" had now been replaced with simply "water break"

Stress from being a PA announcer who has several spotters and others helping him?

Puh-leez.

That said, he's not a bad guy. Just don't try to make out the job for more than what it is.

First of all, the job is not that hard, especially if you have done it for many years. Don't get me wrong, I think Dan is great, but a PA announcer should be unobtrusive and just give the basic information. Sometimes people in his position begin to think they are part of the show, which they should not be. I was not at the game, so I did not hear the controversial call, but I think the criticism is a bit nit-picky.
