You are not be realistic about Lee. He panicked big time against bama. Lee was good, but good was not enough against bama. Certainly would not have been worse than Jefferson, tho.

I agree 100% Les Miles was the only coach in America who would have not pulled Jeffrerson and put in senior qb Lee who was 8-0 as a starter that year.
Why Miles did not give LSU a chance to win the national championship is a mystery. I hope one day the truth comes out.

quote:Were you under sedation or in a coma on November 5, 2011? Miles made no adjustments for the NC. Why would Lee have done any different against a more determined Bama defense. You're pipe dreaming. Let's move on to this year.
However, something tells Lee would have played brilliantly and LSU would have won in grand fashion. To me Lee was simply awesome in 2011!

Yes, and he'll be starting for us this year. We weren't winning the BCS game with Lee or Jefferson.

pretty much this

I have no doubt that if he were given the reigns against Ark. and Ga. and Ala. (round 2) LSU would be national champions going for a 2nd straight title instead of Ala.
and delusional.

Excuse my ignorance but I for one am sick and tired of hearing about our upgrade in quarterbacks for 2012 season
I watched the 1st game with BAMA last night and I could see the suck in our QB play...before Mett walks through the tunnel for our 1st game of 2012 i tell you its a massive improvement.

So the SEC title is no longer a championship?

I for one appreciate every snap Jarrett Lee took for this team in 2011 and I have no doubt that if he were given the reigns against Ark. and Ga. and Ala. (round 2) LSU would be national champions going for a 2nd straight title instead of Ala.
From a previous thread on film study of the NCG. This was addressing the question of who should start against Bama...
1) Lee in his career versus Alabama has one touchdown and seven interceptions. He also set the record for "deer in headlights" looks for a quarterback in one half versus Alabama on Nov. 5.
2) In the past three years, Jefferson is one of three quarterbacks to have beaten Alabama. The other two are Cam Newton and Stephen Garcia. Jefferson is the only one to do it twice.

Lee averaged 127 yds/start. Why does everyone think he was an All-American?
He was merely adequate, but still better than the other option.

You couldn't be more wrong. Lee didn't have the toughness to stand in the face of a vicious rush and deliver. LSU was strong enough rushing the ball to beat every team but Bama. Only Bama was strong enough to stop the run while still pressuring the passer. Lee didn't have the guts to deal with that, and JJ just couldn't make quick enough decisions. QB was the problem. Lee's nice statistics were the result of his OLine dominating the opponents. Any QB should post good stats in that situation.

Something just hit me...
If Mett would have started, he would have been a FIRST YEAR STARTERS.
First year starters win championship games. Start Mett = Championship!!!
