LSU increased its commitment total to 17 on Friday when four-star inside linebacker Melvin Jones gave Les Miles the good word.

Jones, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound middle linebacker, had narrowed his focus to LSU and Texas A&M after picking up offers from the likes of Alabama, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Tennessee, TCU, and several others.

Jones, who is ranked the fourth best linebacker in the country by 247 Sports and No. 147 overall in the Top 247, gives the Tigers their first linebacker in the 2013 class. With his pledge LSU could possibly move up a spot and leap Ohio State at No. 8 in the 247 Team Rankings.

Am I the only one that has a feeling Jones will eventually end up on the Dline?

Absolutely huge. For those that haven't seen Jones' film, do yourself a favor. Kid is a natural talent with room to grow. The coaches are doing work.

I hope not, this guy is built in the mold of Kelvin Sheppard. We need a true MLB after Minter leaves and this guy is it IMO

Seriously? I've been posting on this board longer than you. It's a great pickup for LSU. Hell of a talent.
