ok ok...i figured that was the case. It'd be a really low blow if Rome really had hit his old lady. Without hearing it in context it's hard to determine what he meant.

Yeah I get what sterns saying. It's like in 9th grade when you'd ask your buddy "hey have you told your parents your gay yet?". I just don't get how Rome's question is loaded. His response could just be "no, that's a ridiculous question, nothing in the history of the NBA has been preordained." It's obviously a ridiculous question. The lottery isn't rigged and even if it was Stern's not just gonna say it. It's very inflammatory and stupid, but it seems like a 'fair' question.
