shite my bad, I had Travis Rodgers confused with the guy who went to LSU from houston that guest hosts. Rodgers is actually really good. Way better than Kyle Brandt.

I have been never a fan of Stern, but I would gladly buy the gentleman a beer for that comment.

What sucks about Stern is he would hand down a fine to an owner that said something like what he said to Rome. Stern is a smug pos. Rome is a talk show host.

Last time Rome was punked that good was when Jim Everett grabbed his tiny arse and put him on the ground on his TV show.

Looking online regarding comments on the exchange and unfortunately it seems that there are shitloads of people out there who legitimately think Stern was referencing Rome's actual wife, which kind of sucks 1) that people are that stupid, 2) like Rome or not the dude by all accounts is a VERY sincere family man. Especially since "was the fix in" isn't even a loaded question....that would be "so commissioner is the fix still in on the draft"

Stern has very thin skin. sounds like he was holding that one in his back pocket just waiting to break it out.
I've been listening to Rome for over 20 years. That's the first time that any guest has gotten him visibly (or audibly) flustered as the commish did with that "career built on cheap thrills" line.
Stay classy Commish

Yep. I've listened to Rome for probably 11 or 12 years. Like I said, I completely get why a bunch of people aren't fans... I love the show but take breaks myself. Rome DEFINITELY reacted in an emotional way that showed his ego. But its pretty damn obvious that he wasn't accusing Stern of putting in the fix. It really seemed like he was basically lobbing it up for Stern to shoot down. Stern seemed to take it the wrong way for sure. Also kudos for Rome for actually asking a direct question instead of "well commish sources tell me..." like Cowherd does.
Again people might not like Rome's delivery, or the way he does things, but the dude is a great interviewer and gets great guests and obviously works very hard in doing so, he is also very prepared whether he is interviewing a commissioner, or a lineman from a college football team.

Absolutely. It may rub some people the wrong way, but he never shies away from the tough questions.

Rome is by far my favorite radio personality. His interview today before Stern with Charles Barkley was awesome. A lot of athletes are big fans of Rome.
Also, Stern is a massive douche bag and he showed it today. Stern seems like a guy who thinks he is too good for everyone.

Honestly, thats on par with asking George Bush if he's part reptilian.

His response could just be "no, that's a ridiculous question, nothing in the history of the NBA has been preordained." It's obviously a ridiculous question.
He did. The first thing he said is something like "I'll give you the short answer...no."
At the end: "Jim Rome is pouting?"

Not a fan of Rodgers or local radio in general. Houston mightve dropped him but Rome is gaining affiliates all the time. He's hardly going anywhere. And his making fun of the WNBA and the female athlete is great

I get that a lot of people don't like Rome. However, I heard the interview live and in no way was Rome guilty of anything other than getting offended at stern's smugness. Stern went bush league and made it very personal.
