i love this. jim rome is a tool.

I hate defending Jim Rome because he sucks, and a lot of that interview shows why – he just kept repeating what I’ve just heard for five minutes. He is a shock jock who tries to give himself an out by reading offensive emails from his listeners. “oh well, I’m not saying it, it’s my listeners.” What a cop out. I detest his show.

OK, that out of the way, Rome was in the right. The question is perfectly legitimate, it’s not like he invented these rumors – it’s what people are talking about. Ask the question, let Stern swat it down, and then move on. And Stern did raise a good point when he said that he has a buyer, it’s not like he can change the price. So the question even got Stern to make a logical defense of why the rumors are stupid.

For Stern to go that personal that repeatedly was completely unprofessional on his part. –The wife comment I thought was fine, if a non-sequitor as it’s a standard way of showing how a leading question that assumes facts is unfair. But Rome’s question didn’t do that. And for him to then personally attack Rome was uncalled for. You’re supposed to be the adult. Rome even continually stated he didn’t believe the lottery was fixed, and let you explain why. You weren’t bushwacked.
