I'm not sure where your team will stay but the Marriot off College Drive will be the best bet. Arkansas stayed there last year.

Sorry about all the smart arse kids on here that think it's cool to be a fricking twit.

Just call UW's SID & they can tell you. I am sure the rooms are already booked.

Wow! Someone asks a legitimate question and there is a rush by the posters to be jerks.
I guess that's what adds value to this board. We need to demonstrate(again) to people what idiots we LSU fans are.

College Dr and I-10
Map
Closer to the campus and a good range of hotels.

The OP admitted to being a lurker so this response could not have been a surprise. Secondly, I haven't lived in BR in over twenty years and in 3 minutes I could find out hotel selections on my iPhone. He was asking for it. If he wanted a legitimate answer he would have gotten on the Washington board. Our fans don't keep up with every visiting fanbase's preferred hotel choice......... Uh........ Right?

There are two areas you want to concentrate on and both have been discussed. The I-10/College Dr. area and downtown. There are several nice hotels downtown. Either location is a short drive to campus.

A couple of other suggestions. Not sure if the Lod Cook Hotel would be booked for the UW game. I know its probably already sold out for all of the big SEC games, maybe all the games. It's right on campus, a nice walk to the Stadium. Also, there is a new casino opening down south of campus near the river, L'Auberge Baton Rouge. It's supposed to open this summer.

Good luck, safe travels, have fun. Come back a few weeks before the game & start a thread about what to do. Folks will give you some pointers on pre-gameday, gameday, & post-game day activities. You'll be invited to several tailgates. The main thing is to enjoy the game day atmosphere, wear your colors, cheer for your team, accept some (maybe a lot of) friendly abuse, don't be a dick, and people will feed you & drink you until you've had your fill. Then they'll feed you & drink you some more!

Any of the hotels on Airline Hwy in north Baton Rouge, preferably near Scotlandville (lots of people of Scottish descent live there) would be an ideal place to stay for a weekend....

How about the Belmont?

Any of the downtown hotels are good, but may be booked. A new one that just opened so it may not be on people's radar is Hotel Indigo. There's plenty of food drink options in the area and there are usually shuttles making to 2-3 mile drive to campus.

College drive area has a bunch of hotels so you can search that area as well. In particular; lots of new hotels on constitution ave.

If you lurked, I'm sure you expected the initial responses. Weed through the crap and you'll get good insight.

That justifies the juvenile responses? Ok I get it. If you play with idiots you should expect idiocy?

Wasn't the original question dealing with where the visitor's teams would stay and not where are the hotels? English isn't that complicated.

How so?

I agree with this. The odds are hugely in favor of getting an intelligent response there rather than here.

Really? That's a surprise. From what I have read here the past several years, LSU fans know EVERYTHING.

try the Hilton riverside OR Hotel Indigo. They are both downtown and I think the hilton does a shuttle to the stadium.

Elm Grove Motel by the airport is real nice. You pay cash and you can walk to the airport.

Thanks folks and thanks for sticking up for me. Like I said I expected some twit answers so no harm no foul. I know that looking things up on a phone is an easy way to do it, but was wondering what locals thought. I could do the same thing in Seattle and there are some better spots than others that wouldn't show up on a phone so that is why I asked.

No worries, every fan base has the board flamers and it was expected. Thanks for the folks that had thoughtful responses. They are appreciated.

I stay at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza on Constitution off College and I-10. Quite often, visiting teams stay there. Anything around there would be fine.

Thanks, I'm also trying our fan base, but I thought I'd try here too. I knew there would be 20 flames and a couple answers worth reading so we are pretty much where I thought we'd be. Thanks and I will say that after the game in Seattle and on the Seattle times board I was impressed by the fan base being good sports on the boards.

Please remember that UW hasn't played in Tiger Stadium since 1983.

A lot has changed in BR since those days...Many parts of the city are dangerous. VERY dangerous. Don't listen to the jackwagons on here advising you about North BR being the place to stay- that entire area is a crime-ridden ghetto.

Take a look at this map. It should give you a better idea of the areas to avoid.

Good luck when you come- except on the football field.
