I was pretty speechless for most of it. I've never supported the booing or JL chants so I didn't take part in those. As frustrating as it was I tried my best to stay supportive of this team. They did too much this season to be bailed on by their fans in the NC game.

I have never boo'd any of my teams or anything like that and I didn't last night but I did join in on he JL chant because i was so pissed

I am a sports fan with passion and can understand being heartbroken. I have felt the bitter taste of defeat and will again, as will all who play or watch. However, some folks absolutely lose their minds in either defeat or victory, shouting hostile curses when their team loses and hurling gloating vulgar insults in victory. The decline of civility is shameful and it is present in fans from every school and pro team. Especially, by the way, in the Dook students in Cameron Indoor Stadium. They are proud of being the worst!

At that point I knew the game was lost anyway. It didn't matter if JL came in. IMO, he wasn't going to change the game. So I really didn't care. The only thing that really pissed me off was us punting.

This is stupid

Yea, breaking shite is dumb and pointless, but people invest lots of emotion and time in LSU football. And LOTS of money, especially for last night. People have every right to be be angry and "whine" about it.

Side note. Today is the first day in the post perrilloux QB progression era.

LSU starts completely fresh today.

This is exactly what I've said all day.

A lot of it is just white trash and like it or not LSU has plenty of white trash fans, many posting on this site.

what is fan short for again?

I would have been pissed too if I wasted over $1,000 to watch that shite. Thankfully, I went in 08 when we scored.

Yeah, I get yelling, screaming, and all of that...

It's the breaking of shite, the public displays of petulant behavior, etc., that confuses me.

Yeah, yelling/screaming doesn't equal vitriol

I know it's not just at LSU. Is it a mental issue? Alcohol? Upbringing?

Complete lack of personal accomplishment and vicariously latching on to someone/something else's in order to feel better about themselves would be my guess

We had a very polite, fun Bama couple in front of us. Some 25 year old started calling her a fat bitch.

This is horrible but it is wrong to think that this type of behavior is unique to LSU fans. There are a lot of short-tempered rednecks in the SEC and they are passionate about football. Last night's scene was probably at a special high level because it was the National Championship, JJ was sucking (even for him), Lee was pacing, LSU was losing to a Saban-led bama team in New Orleans, and we were getting shut out for the first time in 16 years.

But every fan base has their share. I was at the 2007 LSU-Bama game and at the very end, after the JPW fumble, a gump just lost it and threatened to go to his truck to retrieve his double-barrelled shotgun and shoot my friend in the head. Moreover, our group had never even said anything to him. We were just celebrating amongst ourselves.

At the 2007 SEC Championship Game against Tennessee, after the Beckham INT at the end, a Vol fan behind us yelled "frick YOU" in our faces and flipped us off...in front of his grandchildren who were probably around 8 or 9.

People act like fools sometimes.

What is whining going to do? I was upset last night and am still irked by it, but people saying they've lost respect for Miles? Give me a fricking break. We won 13 games and an SEC title. Yeah we laid an egg, but shite happens. He's built a powerhouse and thought one guy was better than the other. I don't agree with it, but the sky isn't falling.

I agree but I think many on this site are lumping it all together. I've read posts on here that equate posting strong dissatisfaction with Miles or some of the players with irrational behavior of people who have no life and identify their self worth through LSU.

How should a guy who donates thousands to TAF, buys season tickets every year and pays for this bowl game react?

"Gee whiz, that was bad...oh well here's thousands more...let's get 'em next years fellas"???
