And for some reason, chicks just fricking love Olive Garden.
Thankfully I married a food snob. I know about the Facebook thing. I just shake my head because it almost seems like its a really big deal to be eating at Olive Garden.

I seriously don't understand it
Seriously don't either mine didn't know better. Sad but true. After several trips to good Italian spots she understands the difference. Thank god

I refuse to eat at Applebee's, Olive Garden, etc. People need to open their minds & be adventurous with food. I understand not everyone likes ethnic cuisines but there are plenty of local restaurants that have relatively inexpensive seafood, burgers, etc. that taste fresh & have better quality ingredients.

m not a food snob. I don't go to high-end restaurants every weekend, and spend $100 per meal whenever I go out to eat. In New Orleans, you don't have to. But I truly feel sorry for people who's idea of going out to eat consits of Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Applebee's, etc.
I see it all the time on my Facebook feed. It'll be a Saturday night, and so-and-so "Is SOO excited for my dinner date with my man tonight....Can't wait for OLIVE GARDEN!!"
I can understand maybe on a regualr weeknight, when you want to jsut go get something quick. Wait, no I can't, because there are tons of places around that you can go get a good, cheap meal that are better than those places. I guess maybe they are just in a location that is not conducive to getting a good meal?
I feel the same way..
I see so many people check in at Applebees or Chili's. I went to the quarter the other day with some friends of mine and two of them said Landry's was their favorite restaurant in the city.
I mean F***...
People need to stop buying pre-frozen, pre sauced Sysco prepared meals and adventure out and try some local places.

News flash, people that like eating Applebees don't give a rats arse what you think about it. They can knock out a cajun sirloin and tuscan chipolte chibata mash potato bowl then go buy a Rascal flats cd and there is nothing you can do about. There is not going to be a great sheeple enlightenment take place any time soon. Just take care of your own.

Yea, I think this is what bothers me the most. They act like it's a huge, go all out on a Saturday night, deal.

why do you fricking care ?? what if it makes them happy ? what if it's a treat to them because it is all they can afford ? what if it is a one-night escape from a tough life for a husband, wife, and their two little children ? could you possibly be any more pretentious and pompous ??

Maybe for them it is a big deal.
Posted on 1/4/12 at 7:46 am to Spoonie Luv
I feel bad for them as well, but there's nothing you can do about it.
I also feel bad for people who drink crappy lite beer, but there's not much I can do about that either.

ya know, i bet there's a reason that they make ford, chevy, yota, vehicles, and chocolate, niller and strawberry shakes. i'm not sure what it is though, how bout you?

I wouldn't say people are scared, they just don't care. Some people eat because they have to. Others make it a way of life. It is the same as those that scoff at someone buying yellowtail or barefoot wine. Sure there is better, but for most, it is enough.

I'm sure I could.

I'm sure you could on the internet. I highly doubt you will wade up in an Olive garden and inform the masses that they are all stupid and beneath you.
Posted on 1/4/12 at 8:25 am to LSUballs
No, I wouldn't do that in Olive Garden, just like I didn't do it here.
Posted on 1/4/12 at 8:26 am to TigahRag
Oh shite. Rag is in this bitch with the minority viewpoint. This will be 15 pages by noon.

cause, there's only a few Applebees, Olive Gardens, etc. around, and they're going out of business every day..

What kind of crazy point are you trying to make?
Of course they are doing awesome and none of them are going out of business. They are marketing like crazy to the masses to make them think/feel that they are getting good food at a good prices.
It's horse shite.
Good for you if you like it and want to eat there. We have a right to bitch about the places as much as you have a right to feel good about eating there.
