I can't understand the wanting to capture the "urban" demographic either.......I'm sure the people who listen to sports talk radio have a higher median income than the "urban" audience.

You must have missed the part about only accounting for 6% of the revenue and 46% of the labor costs.

We live in a what have you done for me lately society. Listeners out there wanted to see what was under Roseanne Barr's bikini. 1210 tried to make some tweaks but in the end they just had a swiss cheese defense. This decision was a spicy one and the hosts, I'm sure, had the brooke trout look when they were told of the news. Some of the hosts thought the bosses were just being facetious but the bosses were just having karma that gospel was the way to go. LEWINSKI

Don't you think Jordy should be able to get a gig on 104.5 in a good time slot?

If I owned a business in B.R. with majority male employees, I would consider funding the gospel station over the a sports talk show as a way of increasing production in my workplace. Get back to work!

Try it for a week without the radio. I will split the increased production with you.

Most of the time I just use it as background noise, but hey, I'm sure you're pulling down OT money and know better.

Hahaha...

Suck it, crappy 1210 crap.

I understand people not loving it.

But, I'd rather have it than not have it. There are definitely times when I like to listen.

I'm not sure why anyone would prefer to have a Gospel station than a local sports talk station.

That is odd.

It is True. I know people this has directly affected.
The General Manager for The Clear Channel called all his host on New Year’s morning and informed them that 1210 was changing its format from sports talk to gospel effective immediately. All of these host had no prior notice that this was even being considered. What a great way to treat these men and their families that have been with them for years.
It is my understanding that all other staff members were notified by email New Years morning.
They don't realize how many of us enjoy local sports talk radio.
I was looking forward to listening and discussing the biggest game of the year coming up on January 9th.

What an absolute piece of crap the GM is if true......not speaking for the quality of the shows, but come on this week was probably going to a huge moneymaker for these guys. Something surely could have been worked out and more notice given. It's a shame they scheduled all of this stuff, and suddenly had it ripped.

Screw Clear Channel, and screw corporate radio for that matter.

Yeah, I agree.

I don't understand people like Rummel rejoicing in this.

Not defending, don't know who the GM is, but this decision was made over his head and more than likely, he was asked to keep it under wraps as a directive from his superior(s).
